Another big disaster just hit in Mexico, magnitude 8 earthquake. Mother Nature is angry my friends.

An earthquake of a preliminary magnitude of 8.0 struck off the coast of Chiapas, Mexico, late on Thursday local time, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) said, citing USGS data. The PTWC said that hazardous tsunami waves were possible within the three hours following the quake along some coasts of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, Honduras and Ecuador.

Our luck on this earth will run out one day .Nature is unpredictable and too big for us.

My Astronomy club recorded the earthquake. (We host a seismograph for the USGA at our observatory) It's a seismograph recording of the earthquake in Mexico from Westport,Connecticut. I'm not sure if this is a still shot or a picture that continuously updates so the reading could fall off the image over time.

Man, that sucks. 8 as a nightmare. My heart goes out to the people of Mexico. People there have always been very kind and hospitable every time I've visited. I have tremendous respect and affection for the Mexican people. This breaks my heart. Prayers going to Mexico (and donations when I get home).
