Really sick and tired of hearing about Micah and his contractual desires. One day, he's willing to settle for less than the max amount and the next day, he's chomping at the bit to make the max. This guy needs to have his head examined. Can't wait for the day when he quits shooting off his mouth.

40 isn't the max amount.

We are going to pay him for his peak, but it won't coincide with the team's peak.

Micah's play and current value is based on insane athleticism, but his production routinely fades down the stretch every year because his body can't hold up to the workload.

I just don't think he's got that many years of mega deal play left, and we're not ready to contend anyway.

We'd be better served trading him for a Mack type haul.

5th year isn’t relevant because the 5th year exists no matter what. Even if they signed him today the 5th year option still exists.

You are right that the exclusive tag will be around that next year(which they would need in this case) but the 2nd tag is 20% over the first by rule. That means you are paying him 2 years 77m in a way that is brutal for the cap. After which he leaves at 28 and takes 4 years 200m minimum possibly 5 years 250m.

Do it. $200 million for 20 years. Micah could play another 10 years and then they just have to carry him on the roster until he is cheap enough to cut.
