Why would you do that?Trade him and load up on picks in this defensive heavy draft
Why?We're really going to regret this contract in like 2 years
40 isn't the max amount.Really sick and tired of hearing about Micah and his contractual desires. One day, he's willing to settle for less than the max amount and the next day, he's chomping at the bit to make the max. This guy needs to have his head examined. Can't wait for the day when he quits shooting off his mouth.
40 isn't an overpay and they did a good job with Osa on a reasonable deal.Players like Dak and CeeDee have already proven the Jones boys are suckers that can be forced to overpay for players they are determined to keep. It's low hanging fruit for Parson's agent to demand as much as possible.
40 a year isn't bad.$200M? ................Maybe if he could play the run worth a crap, or not leave glaring gaps that allow QBs to escape the pocket.
He likely gets cut in 4 years. Post June 1Yes and then end up having to pay him 50m per year. Plenty of teams try the "wait and wait and wait" approach and it just makes the price go up. Every contract that gets signed makes the asking price go up.
Then he doesn’t show up to camp, and it becomes headlines, etc……It might not happen now.
They can do the 5th year at 25M for 2025, and then just tag him in 2026.
A deal like that (200M!) means that Micah would be leaving Dallas when his is 28/29 years old. 8(
Why?
I don't want to re-sign Micah because of our situation, but if you put him on a team that can stop the run, he would be worth the $200M.$200 million to become a speed bump for any running offense in the NFL.
Why would you do that?
5th year isn’t relevant because the 5th year exists no matter what. Even if they signed him today the 5th year option still exists. He likely gets cut in 4 years. Post June 1
or...
2025 5th Year - 25M
2026 Tag - 35M
2027 Tag - 35M
2028 UFA
3YR-95M
Good luck finding a GM who can do that in Dallas. But when it comes to holes old JJ did say ......Let’s load up and fill multiple holes
Just get the deal done!!
Probably the best plan.It might not happen now.
