Micah expected to ask for $200 million

What Micah agreed to is take less so the team can be active in free agency getting real players. They didn't do that. Had no interest in it. So the discount has been rescinded.

Really sick and tired of hearing about Micah and his contractual desires. One day, he's willing to settle for less than the max amount and the next day, he's chomping at the bit to make the max. This guy needs to have his head examined. Can't wait for the day when he quits shooting off his mouth.
Really? So out of curiosity. how many of these comments about his contractual desires have you heard from directly Micah?

For instance in this story that the OP posted, one writer references another writer's opinion on what may happen:
"According to Calvin Watkins, Parsons is expected to ask for a $200 million contract extension"

But, you're angry at Micah over it?

So he's a hypocrite just like Dak enjoy sub 500 this year.

So Micah and Dak are hypocrites for doing what most professional athletes do at contract time and get the most money they can, while they can?

Well I guess there are hundreds of hypocrites all over the world in major sports then.

You apparently don't understand how business negotiations work.

I don't want to re-sign Micah because of our situation, but if you put him on a team that can stop the run, he would be worth the $200M.
This right here. He is worth the $$$$. He truly is. JUST NOT IN DALLAS. We are not going to be contending for 3 or 4 more seasons, so he should be traded for assets to accelerate that timeline.

Yep. A 5 year 40m per is not something that is out of the question.
And so much depends on how it is structured. How many years? Like you, I think it will be five added on. How much guaranteed? If we could get him to take less signing bonus, even if he got more guaranteed, it would help keep the hits down the first three years. Do we add on void years? That means we can easily restructure when the base gets higher and push bonus into the void years.

The big, inflated number that looks good to the player and gives him a higher APY is not the primary numbers that matter. Micah could have a relatively low cap number for the next three years depending on how the contract is done. I would suspect the number to be pretty low at least the first two years.

I'm angry at his flittering from one idea to another with no basis for making sense. He's a fan of getting attention for himself, whether his ideas are sensible or not.

He's currently being quoted as if whatever he says is acceptable, whether it's realistic or not. He has no continuity in his ideas.

He'll say something one day and something totally opposite the next. Yet he's being quoted as if he's perfectly reliable. It's words for fools.

Had they signed him after last season, the cap hits would have been way lower. Now they have to struggle with what you're describing.

Any astute person already knew over a week ago that he would be getting 40 a year for 5 years which equals 200. 40 a year is a discount. Stop with the nonsense.

Good for Micah and agent ... don't be left out from the NFL trend, and get what you can while your stock is hot and high.

Anyone gotta problem with this ?

Next up: OG Tyler Smith

Please paste Micah's exact quotes related to his contract demands that you are referring to, not stories about what he may or may not have said or may or may not be looking for. I honestly don't know what he wants and would love to read them form him. I'm just tired of people using click bait articles as a reason to attack a player. IMO Micah would be foolish to sign for anything less than $40.1M per year as we sit here today and if they wait until next year it's probably going to be $45M per. That's how it works. I'm guessing if he was offered $36M per for 5 years in December he would have signed it.

Anyone that thinks Dallas is going to trade Parsons for picks to rebuild the team hasn't been paying attention. I'm not trying to insult anyone. You probably have a solid argument. It's just not what the Cowboys do. If they did trade him for a bunch of picks, it would be deviating from their standard operating procedure.

Just correcting you. 40 is a discount.
