When the time comes for the new contract for Micah… do we break the bank and pay him the probably record mega deal he’s going to want OR what could we get for him in a trade AND would you be willing to trade him.

If I were to trade him it would be to a team that is a bottom dweller thinking Micah would be the answer to their success but certainly not an NFC team.

Thoughts?

You do whatever Quinn wants. I think this a 2 for 1 situation. Sign Parsons and keep Quinn happy.
You assume he will be here in 2-3 years... if he keeps having success why wouldn't he take another head coach deal? As for Parsons... he could be generational talent, you have to pay him.

I want to keep him but you have to at least listen to what others are offering. Depending on the timing, who's coming out of college, etc. maybe you consider pulling the trigger on something.

If this was 1989, that's what you do. Trade him and rebuild. But you don't trade away a generational talent if you think you're a contender. Not even for 10 first round picks.

Parsons is a Cowboy 4 Life. Book it.
I wouldn’t go as far as to say for life, but certainly during the prime of his career. Teams move on from even the greatest players once they decline. The Cowboys moved on from Emmitt Smith, Jason Witten and Demarcus Ware. Eventually, they’ll move on from Parsons once he’s not close to the player he is now.

He might but sweeten the pot by keeping Parsons. Quinn probably could have already had a HC spot. I think he actually likes what he is doing now.

Jerry isn’t about to trade Parsons, he’ll break the bank to re-sign him and he will definitely have to break the bank. Barring injury he’ll end up being the highest paid defensive player in the league and you can pretty much book it. He mentioned having to pay Parsons when talking about Zack’s contract dispute.

Ideally you give him a good contract, then trade him right before he really starts to decline, but I'm not an expert on contracts, or know if that's even feasible. When was the last time we traded a player for a 1st? It's time to get a QB in the first round; like in the next few years. I understand it's no guarantee it'll pan out, but at least it'll give you a better chance than an undrafted or 4th round QB.

He'll be signed....but will alter our cap like no other non-qb in nfl history ever has come close to doing.

Unless he takes a step back or gets injured in a bad way or something this year, that is.

You don’t trade your best player and one of the absolute best players in the league.

You just don’t.

You could get 3 firsts for him and not draft a single player nearly as good as him with those picks.

You pay Micah Parsons. End of story.

Hypothetically, if you were going to trade him, the minimum for me would be a couple first and second round picks and at least two starting caliber players. With Dallas sending a couple late round picks away for the heck of it.

some of us thought Khalil Mack was gonna be a Raider for life too……sometimes the price is too steep for some teams…..having said that, our owner doesn’t let young talent leave the building

Sometimes he also doesn’t let overrated talent leave the building either……

Then you look at the players the raiders drafted with the Khalil mack draft picks and you’re like….. eeeeesh
