Micah highest rated defensive player this year as per PFF

PFF not my favorite ranking metric to use and it is only two games, but what's not to love about this :starspin:

Micah is going right past DPOY and straight to MVP.
+6000 odds right now. Would be really fun for a defender to get it, especially Parsons. If Cowboys win 15+ games and Dak is bus-driving, I could see the narrative growing.

For as universally praised as he is, and how quickly a consensus seems to be forming around his perch at the top, I was shocked to see that TJ Watt had 3 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in the 9ers game. Crazy.

I wonder how close Tank is to him, its crazy but we may have 2 top 5 on the Dline..thats scary.

TJ Watt plays for the Steelers.. So yes.. if he played for the 49ers that WOULD be crazy.

Does PFF grade on penalties drawn? Like if he gets held or etc?

I honestly haven't seen a player not just saying this since he's a cowboy get held as much as he does in a loooong time. Everyone gets away with holding but he could warrant 10 legit flags a game

in the game against the 9ers my guy. they got whooped so I didn’t realize he put up that kind of performance. Especially because the media has been spending all of their time on Micah.

My bad.. I thought he was referring to last night's game! LOL!
Nah last night they mentioned it and showed his total numbers and he’s on fire. So it just surprised me considering he’s also a media darling that everyone’s practically universally agreed Micah’s the guy. I agree, but seeing that I’m surprised there hasn’t been more pushback or whataboutism

I think there are a couple of factors at play.. One is obviously the entire nation has seen every snap of Micah's season so far and the results have been absolutely spectacular. I bet the number of eyeballs what saw Watt do his thing on opening weekend wasn't half of what saw Micah dismantle the G-men. The second factor is I think Watt and Bosa have already won the award and there is a consensus that it's just Micah's turn.

yeah that makes sense, but people love to tear down anything Dallas related, and even last year everyone was quick to piling out judon or reddicks stats, so i assumed that would carry on. micah may be the guy to transcend it though. good stuff

A primetime game followed by the national doubleheader game has allowed too many people to see what a beast Micah is.. Even some of the most fervent Cowboy haters in the media don't want to look like complete buffoons by not giving that guy his due. They would lose all credibility.
