He was answering direct questions. Emmitt used to answer similarly.
That's a weak excuse, same one used for Booger.

Parsons needs to learn the Aikman-Romo method for answering questions. Talk a little and really say nothing.

Interesting that you should bring up Emmitt. We did not learn of his goal to be the all-time leading rusher from him. He told Irvin that and Irvin shared that when Emmitt was getting close. And Emmitt was as money driven and individual goal driven as any Cowboys player ever but he didn't project that image until negotiation time.

That's just me, Typhus. I do not like individual talk in the ultimate team sport.

He's not talking about the defense, he's talking about himself and while it is fact he was the difference maker last season, more we and less me.

He was talking about the sack record earlier in the year, another individual item. He is all about himself.
Not being condescending in any way, but wouldnt you love Parsons to talk himself into a sack machine frensy.
He can say whatever he wants, and then shut up if the time ever becomes appropriate than so be it.
Just some side humor, I remember when Ridgeway walked in the room and started running his mouth and that talk got squashed quickly it seemed, wonder why and by who.
Just Parsons saying "hey Ridge, you better put a sock in it and start learning your craft first before you can start turning up the pipes in this room.
Or was it the entire defense that stands behind their vocal captain.
My bet is that its both, and thats a unity that I havent seen for a very long time.

I think many of them do but they do not have to talk about it.

As much of a jerk as Lawrence Taylor was, he did make it all about his team. Even when he was the best player in the game.

If he needs outward talk to challenge and motivate himself, he's a perfect fit for Booger's Boys.
Then try to get the media to stop asking him these questions.

As far as making it about the team… here you go.

What I was saying is that he speaks up, knowing he has to live up to his words. (Just my hypothesis.)
I think he's just infected with Cowboysitis with the media. Lots of talkin' with not much walkin' by this team.

Remember what Parsons said before the playoff game that he should be on their best player? Well, he was a no show against Samuel and their team rushed for 170 yards. I didn't hear much from him after that game.

Runny, just too damned much talk from this underachieving team.

That, is about the team?

S'ok, some are more about the players than I am because I could care less what they do or say, they are there for my entertainment and that's all I use them for. I used to be into all the other stuff but I aged out of it.

Show up on game day, be ready to play their best, play and then I don't care what they do. I am that way about the entire sport. And I realize I am in the small minority here but that's just me.

Yup. Some of us see some suspect in micah. If he backs it up I'll be the first to shut up but it's looking iffy. And being in Dallas isn't helping as you said

And let me say this, he was my pick from the get go in the draft and I was giddy when CAR and DEN made their picks and then lost it when they actually traded down and risked losing him. How in the hell did they know the Giants wouldn't take him after they pulled that PHL trade and they got the Giants player? What was their fall back if that happened and where would this D have been then?

As a player, I love this kid just like when I saw him play at Penn State. We are fortunate he opted out and Booger lied about taking players that opted out with that pick.

No offense… but you seem very much to care what they say.

Parsons is from a generation that airs all their emotions and thoughts on the internet. I wouldn't expect him to shy away from a microphone.

Yeah everybody has a plan till they get smacked in the mouth.

He needs to just shut his mouth and concentrate on playing good fundamentally sound football.

Less said is best let your actions do the talking.
He's beginning to become a bit annoying with this me me me rhetoric concentrate on making your team better.

no. you.

What I like most is that the talent actually backs up the mouth. Remember Jimmy's famous "If you're gonna talk the talk, you better walk the walk?

Micah backs it up unlike a couple of others here claiming to be leaders whose talk is waaayyyy bigger than their performance level.

I can only hope for the other 52 to follow in his footsteps.

Because that is the meat and potatoes of this forum, along with Booger and Porker.
You’re the one that said you could care less what the players say (I assume you meant that you couldn’t care less). I was just responding to that when I said you seem to care.
