This is not really news, been this way for a long time. Brett Favre back in the day admitted he was addicted to pain killers because he knew he had to stay on the field or he would get replaced.

Think about it, do you honestly think guys with broken ribs, dislocated joints, sprained ankles, sprained knees, tendons or ligaments torn, and a host of other ailments could go out and play full speed tackle football for 3 hours every week, and sometimes even shorter rest than that, without getting "shot up"?

A lot of these guys are playing with injuries that the average adult would be in bed for weeks with........that aint happening without taking massively strong prescription pain killers and yes, most of those are very addictive.

This sums it up perfectly

Love his free speech and confidence in speaking his mind but this is a strong accusation with a wide brush. He may have to add more context or pull it back a bit.

I think this is such a whiney stance. OK, don't take the pain killers. Then the reply is I am injured. Well availability is crucial in professional football and you are well paid to endure pain and perform. You signed a highly lucrative contract knowing pain would be inflicted on your body. Now you complain you are offered pain control? Suck it up and make a choice, but do not cry that the pain killers are offered. You have a choice.

Exactly..........I remember watching the game between the Rams and the Titans this year, my brother is a huge Titans fan, and Tanny got rolled up on pretty bad, like his entire ankle was pointed the wrong direction and he had to get carted off the field.

Dude came back out for the second half with about 30 rolls of tape on his ankle and the sideline reporter said "they shot up his ankle and taped it, so he is going to give it a go here in the second half."

The announcers were like, "ok, we will have to keep an eye on that and see if his mobility is affected any". Nobody seemed like they were trying to hide anything or cover anything up.
Yep, all the time...

There was a book that came out in the early 70s called “Meat on the Hoof” by a former Texas Longhorn player named Gary Shaw. In that book Shaw talked about college players taking shots to be able to play and how hard the coaching staff drove players who were hurt to play through injuries.

At the time it came out, it was very controversial because no one had been openly talking about football players being treated like modern gladiators. Now it’s just accepted as “part of the game”.

Most players today are just soft, physically and mentally.
I disagree. Mentally it’s tough to go against the whole “suck it up” mantra that has been instilled in us. And the players of the past have come out and said they regret playing hurt due to how many issues they’ve had post career. These new players have far more information than the older players did.

It’s insane that we have a young, generational talent on defense that people want to trade away because he speaks his mind on social media. Absolutely insane.

Is something somehow wrong with what he said? Can someone explain why it’s so bad that we should consider trading one of the best pass rushers in the NFL?

This is just a side note and off topic but.... The more vocal Micah gets on social media the more I think Dallas should trade him while his value is about as high as it's going to get.

Don't get me wrong, aI love the player on the field but just have a feeling his comments are going to cause a lot of unnecessary drama someday soon
WAIT UNTIL HE GETS PAID, you really won't see him shut up!!!!

Trust me, bird chap, our Chatty Katie will walk it back.
He always does.
He spouts schlitz and then walks it back only to show a limited reasoning ability and, combined with few verbal skills, comes off as uninformed.
Who??
