Jerry is the idiot. He’s handing out ludicrous player contracts. He has done more to escalate individual player compensation than any other owner. Haslam is admitting the Watson debacle is on him. Jones gave Prescott more guaranteed money after seeing the issues in Cleveland.

Jones makes no sense. It isn’t because he doesn’t care about winning. He is too old to be involved in the Cowboys’ day-to-day operations. He should not be talking to the press in regard to the Dallas Cowboys. He is being taken advantage of. Players and agents, and the NFLPA in general, love him because he is unsure of how to negotiate. The press love him because he can be counted on to say something stupid every time he opens his mouth.

I never really believed he'd take a discount, but even if he was going to why would he after that free agency?

His talk of sacrificing for the good of the team was based on being aggressive. If there was any chance of that coming to fruition we'd have needed to sign him early on and go for more than first round busts in free agency.

I dont hate our free agent approach and still believe Parsons was spouting off more than anything, but even if he was sincere they've given him no reason to give a discount.

Did Micah Parsons ever use the word “discount” in deference to a contract extension? I understood he only indicated he did not have to necessarily be the “highest paid”.

Now that Jerry has disrespected Micah and his agent by saying he did not know Micah’s agent’s name Micah will be signing the largest non-quarterback player’s compensation contract in NFL history.

At some point the other owners will have to deal with Jerry Jones. He is the league’s problem.
