Michael Gallup needs to catch the ball

He definitely should have caught that pass for a TD. Dak made a perfect throw. But after watching the play again, the DB definitely grabbed his jersey and it definitely slowed Gallup down just a hair. But I also think Gallup was distracted by the grab which is why he didn't catch the ball.

Oddly, the refs did not call a penalty on the Chargers there, but they called one later in the game on Gilmore that set up the Chargers 2nd TD. Then after that Pollard beat the Chargers LB for what should have been another TD, and again, the defender grabbed Pollard's arm to slow him down. No flag was thrown. The refs should have called illegal contact on that play because it was way past 5 yards and the defender was clearly trying to obstruct Pollard's route.

This is why these rules drive me nuts every week and in every game. There is no consistency to any of these penalties.

Anyway, I think dumping on players after one bad game is kind of silly. two weeks ago Gallup had 5 catches on 6 targets and helped us beat the Patriots.

And by the way, Pollard did not drop that that interception against the 49ers. The ball hit the defenders arm. Pollard never got a hand on it. That is a pass defensed, not a drop.

The refs were quite awful. I mean, really awful.

When you combine the drops, with the routes and about as poor separation as you can get, I think he’s more of a liability

I agree, and you can't have a liability at WR. It means you have one less weapon that you can use to attack a defence. If Gallup keeps struggling, they need to get Tolbert more involved or they need to find another QR who can replace MG. I know he's got that contract, but a team that fancies themselves contenders can't have a WR that they can't trust.

I'm not sure about that but he might not be here come training camp next year. Some young stud is going to take his job by next season if he keeps missing receptions. jmho

Maybe even this season. I could see a scenario where he ends up playing ST more because he gets taken off WR roles.

Some say he dropped two TDs. He should have caught one of them, but the other was an overthrow. Sometimes fans seem to want receivers to stick to the ball like Spider-Man if they are able to lay a finger on it.
The one was overthrown but he did not jump at all for it. I think it caught him cross-footed but still it was a catchable ball with a reasonable leap.

its the kind of play that got him the contract and he doesnt seem to be able to go up for them now...was it a perfect throw, no but its the type of throw he used to get all the time..

The problem is we are saying that every week.

Yup, and unfortunately, that's just an element that the Cowboys have to learn to overcome. We've been saying it for years, and it won't change. Especially since Goodell just got a new contract. So, the Cowboys need to play to where they don't give the refs an excuse to call something on us.

The drop was the best throw of the game - from either QB.

The first one was high, but I thought he should have been able to go up and get that, or at least make an effort. He badly mistimed it or something.
