I believe he is not arguing to use 3 corners like a standard nickel, thus no Webb, but rather 3 safeties with Church as a hybrid linebacker/safety. Saints have used this a lot this year with Harper, Vaccaro, and Jenkins and have been successful.

Thanks CC. This IS the point I was making. Then, our Dime package essentially becomes the new Nickle (take out Carter for a DB).

Cowboys working out Michael Huff
November, 12, 2013
By Calvin Watkins | ESPNDallas.com

IRVING, Texas -- In need of improved play in the secondary, the Cowboys are working out free-gent safety Michael Huff.

i

Huff

The Cowboys expressed interest in Huff in the offseason, but he signed a three-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens instead. But the former Longhorn was released in late October along with former Cowboys defensive end Marcus Spears.

The need for veteran help at safety increased after the Cowboys allowed a franchise-record 625 total yards to the New Orleans Saintson Sunday

This is a good move IMO. Probably should have looked for a safety earlier but that's thru the retrospectroscope.

It can't be. I heard from a friend of his on here last week that Huff's game was weak and we would be better off with Heath.

He not the player he was projected to be out of college, and he's probably lost a step since then. But almost anybody is better than Heath right now. Bring him in and lets hope he will be an upgrade.

He certainly can't be any worse.

Well, there were calls for Heath to b cut after the last game.

What can it hurt to bring in a veteran safety who can't be any worse than what we have on the roster now.

I don't have any idea. My guess is Huff doesn't have the athletic ability of Heath but has the game experience and instincts. But he may terminally suck. Heath has athletic skills but just doesn't know the game yet.

They will not cut Heath IMO. Don't know where they cut but McCray is a thought although the STs coach would likely go postal.

You can't give up that many yards without some sort of change, but I domt think Health gets cut. McCray could be a canidate.

Just like the question with Reed I have no problem with this to help with depth and whatever cause this defense is riddled with injuries and not doing anything well anyway.

He is at least average which we haven't had since sensabough "in 09 only". Big upgrade IMO. Can at least play centerfield and run a little.
