Do we make this move?

Can't seem to find anything regarding if Oakland will keep him or let him walk. Played great last year after a horrible first few years in the league.

Do we sign him?

Edit:

Oakland didn't tender him.

Yes , he has put togeather 3 solid years back to back, has history in rob ryans system, and has come around after a slow start. prossman

Is he a serious upgrade? Yes.

Will he cost an arm and a leg? No.

Not much of an argument against it.

I actually prefer him to Bob Sanders and Atogwe, considering he is still young, likely reasonable in cost, point of origin, definite upgrade and familiarity with Rob Ryan's system. All thing's considered, I'd say he is a perfect fit.

Yes, Jerry loved Huff in the draft and will want him now. Huff will be a big upgrade at safety and likes Ryan.
There are only two FS I like in the draft and thats Moore and Aaron Williams who I think is another Huff. But we need a true starting FS now and Huff should be that. He shouldn't cost to much either.

Are you sure about that? 32 nfl teams saw how he played last year. You don't think he'll command a hefty contract (granted, none of us can know what FA will look like this year) ?

I think he'll cost more than everyone thinks. I don't see a Sensabaugh or Hamlin one year test contract for Huff. He may not get a contract like Ken Hamlin was gifted 3 years ago, but he'll get some serious $$$.

I think Huff will be a cowboy for sure. He might be the only FA pick up we do. I can see Jerry resigning Koiser for a year or two and drafting Will Rackley to replace Koiser next year.

I would love for our OL to look like
Free/Rackley/Brewster/Cannon/ Castanzo in 2012

I have said it before - I will be utterly shocked if Michael Huff is not wearing Blue and Silver come training camp.

Only if they can't get Weddle.

Sorry, Eric Weddle is not leaving San Diego. He would cost us draft picks. No way Weddle gets out of San Diego.

I say get after Michael Huff in a hurry.

I think the interest will be mutual.

I'm for the Cowboys going after Huff they need an experienced player who can step right in.

I don't know why Oakland didn't tender him...

They gave Zach Miller and Bush 1st and 3rds but Huff nothing.

Anyway, I ask this question because it makes LOTS of sense. He owns a home here, he's from here, he plays at our biggest position of need, and he's a 2nd team all pro.

I just hope if we do sign him, he doesn't go back to playing how he did his first few years. Maybe he came out of nowhere because this was his contract year...

I would love to have him here. He was awesome at Texas. Had a slow start to his NFL career, but knows Rob Ryan and he has played well lately.
