Former Cowboys WR Michael Irvin has voluntarily dismissed his $100 million lawsuit against Marriott International.

Via WFAA comes word that Irvin's attorneys submitted a filing late Friday regarding the case in which Marriott alleged Irvin made sexual advances toward a hotel employee, causing him to be taken off the air by NFL Network and ESPN during Super Bowl Week.

The initial filing was to get the video tape and now that Irvin's team has possession, they may refile the lawsuit in Arizona in the coming days or maybe an agreement was reached...

So did the video show something they did not like and dropped the lawsuit...you know some of our fans will say this. And that is fine.
Or are they changing their strategy and may refile. Did they reach an agreement.

I been staying away from this. And even now, I don't care. It affects the current team in no way. Fans will see what they want to see. So I rather see FA news.

it could be he saw the video and knew he couldnt win, so why continue to waste more $ on legal fees?
If it didnt, irvin should get his espn and nfl network jobs back.
so lets see if that happens or not.

He can’t get anything from Marriott on this
And he was going to look bad once the testimony of the employee got even more out in public

He couldn’t even remember what he said

Classic and a completely expected development. It will be interesting to see how all of the little Playmakers spin this into a positive for Irvin's side of the issue...

This is not a surprise and I think his lawyer knew he was fighting uphill against what Irvin said in the radio call in.

The Marriott sure got specific about what they allege he said, complete with witnesses and descriptions that would be evident on the video. The video the lawyer has said he will release to the public. I doubt that video sees the light of day again.

At no time in all of this did Irvin or his lawyer address what Irvin did or did not say in that encounter. It was treated as if that wasn't what this was all about.

One of the, and there are many, things we do not know is the role of the NFL in all of this. Have they counseled him that as long as this lawsuit against one of their sponsors continues, he stays in TV limbo.

From the very beginning, the one question that was out there was how is he going to defend himself after what he said in the call in? That, was a huge mistake

What we can watch for now is to see if a new suit is filed and if the NFL is part of that because their involvement in this was far beyond what was first reported. They may have struck a deal with him to get him back on the air and make all of this go away.

If a new suit isn't filed, there's your answer about what he said to the woman. Now whether one feels the punishment fits the crime, that's another issue. But who brought this story to the attention of the public?

I seriously cannot believe anyone thought Irvin had a case. It goes to show how ignorant people are to the law. I love the dude, but I don't let that cloud my judgement. He's my second favorite Cowboys WR. He never really stood a chance.
