Michael Irvin Reacts To Cowboys Reported Defensive Coordinator Hire

The Dallas Cowboys have a new defensive coordinator in former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer. But did the news lead Cowboys legend Michael Irvin to go wild or mild?

Speaking to TMZ yesterday, The Playmaker declared that Zimmer will bring a "more calm approach" to the defense that will allow them to get over the hump in the postseason. He highlighted Zimmer's ability to slow opposing offenses down as something that will benefit the Cowboys greatly.

"Mike Zimmer will bring a more calm approach and he'll make every team walk the ball down the field," Irvin said. "If you've got an explosive offense and the other team has to walk the ball down the field, it gives you a better chance at winning."

Mike likes his old coach? No way! I’m shocked I tell ya! Anyways Mike is right though, but you still have to stop 3rd downs and they were pitiful at that down the stretch it seemed like.

Hopefully, Zimmer will serve to lessen the "country club atmosphere" and instill a sense of seriousness within the players. He's no pushover.
Zimmer will bring out even more sacks in Parsons.

Irvin would’ve been fired up if we brought back Campo. He gets all juiced up about anyone who was part of those 90s teams he played for.

Only thing the Playmaker likes as much as the Cowboys is hookers and cocaine.

Not always in that order.
Yet his football cred & work ethic were always beyond reproach, and he's been uncommonly successful in his post-NFL life.

Without Michael Irvin, this team has exactly two Lombardi Trophies - both in the 1970's.

Good.

Seems now we are looking how to get an explosive offense.

Love Mike ......... but the only people that kisses Jerry's behind more than him ........ well ....... lets just say its a few people that make posts on this forum ........ and Will McClay
LOL, i can already think of 5 of those brown nosers who are eager to get in line once anything negative is written about Jerry. Which at this time, there is plenty. Heck even the NFL and the media is knocking Jerry around.

Definitely, the butt of jokes....no pun intended. :muttley:
