Who was Michael Irvins position coach back in the 1990's? Do you think he would make a good WR coach in the NFL? Also, with Ray Sherman not returning, who would be your choice as our WR coach for the upcoming season?

Hubbard Alexander

NO on Hubbard!

I didn't think he was a good WR coach back then.

Outside of Irvin (whose natural ability and drive made him great) and a few decent seasons out of Harper and Williams (both high picks, but were never great and I really liked Harper), he didn't get much out of our WRs.

Wow D...that's pretty good considering it only took about two minutes to answer. I knew that Reggie Herring was the linebackers coach, lol...a day late and dollar short.

Last I heard he was coaching HS in Memphis. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for his coaching abilities.

He went to Minnesota after Dallas and was Randy Moss' first WR coach as well as Chris Carter, Jake Reed, etc. Not saying he made those guys but he did coach some other good players. He came from Miami with Jimmy etc.

seen jerry rice say he would love to be eback around football. Who better to coach receivers than the greatest wr ever

Maybe he's older, has a family, and just wanted to lead a simpler life. I've been an athletic trainer at the pro level. Now I'm a the high school level. Believe me, there are a lot of advantages.

You are correct, sir.

Have you heard him give an interview? Sounds like he has a mouth full of peanut butter!

:laugh2:

Am I the only one who thinks that the TS was asking whether Micheal Irvin would be a good WR coach and was just inquiring who his coach was? By him asking if he would make a good coach in the NFL he is implying Irvin because H. Alexander has already been a coach in the NFL and he didnt put again on the end of his question. I had considered this as well, but not sure of how it would work out.
