Michael Irvin's top 25 plays

That catch against Dale Carter was a thing of beauty. It's from the showdown with the Chiefs during the 1995 season. It's my favorite catch of his because at the time Dale was shutting everyone down and he was trash talking Irv going into the game.Mike put it on him that game. The Chiefs were really good with Marty schottenheimer man that defense had Neil Smith,DT,and the aforementioned Carter.

It was my favorite Thanksgiving day game for a long time.

Schottenheimer always had great staffs and great defenses. He and Bill Parcells are one in the same. His browns team just got struck by lightning two years in a row versus an inferior Bronco's team that were non competitive in the next weeks super bowl.

The nfl and all of us fans were robbed in 86 of the Parcells Giants playing their mirror image in Schottenheimer's Browns. Had potential to be one of the all time great superbowl's.

11 catches on 13 targets and 121 yards. Yeah, big Mike worked him. He worked just about everyone that season.

Agreed. Marty was just that tough luck guy who never got breaks. Something bad always happened. I always liked watching his teams play. They always seemed so hard nosed and well prepared then bad luck right on the cusp of a super bowl.

I enjoyed watching this very much.
I forgot just how damn good he really was.

they left a bunch out that I loved. Specifically the great catch at the Commanders in 91, tipped ball from Beurlein for a TD.

also. Using Merrill Reese and Bob Papa in a Michael Irvin Video reel.....how do I say this...NO

yep.

Parcells 90 giants team had a miracle fumble recovery after knocking out Montana in the nfc championship game and Marty's best browns team in 87 had Earnest Byner fumble two yards from the endzone causing them to lose in heartbreaking fashion for the second year in a row.

just the way it goes.

underrated quarterbacks don' win Super Bowl MVP's and go to the hall of fame.

He was great and was rewarded for it.
Troy Aikman is “hated on” til this day because of his subpar seasons once the talent on the team faded and lack of volume stats compared to his HOF peers.

They compare him to Eli Friggin Manning

Hes underrated

Both Irvin's and Aikman's numbers would've been greater if the 90's cowboys offense wasn't centered on the run and running out the clock.

We won that game, but all I could think about was Emmitt for the next couple of days. He sprained his knee that day and left the game early. He only had 56 yards that day, which took him off of his pace for 2,000.

The Playmaker definitely had a good game that day. The other highlight I remember from that game was Jay Novacek hurdling a Chiefs defender on his way to a touchdown.

the heart and soul of the best years of the franchise. underrated as a player. even more disrespected as a leader. he's why dallas won what they won.

randomly re-watched hardknocks 2002. emmitt is so passive (and obviously always was there when needed most in the glory years.. giants game, hold out, etc ... we get it).. i just don't see irvin ever accepting that kind of trash. it's why we were great.

That catch was a thing of beauty. His concentration amid chaos is at a very high level. The catch prior to that against the Cards was ridiculous. That bullet pass above his head from the 5 yard line. Snag it, control it, and keep both feet in bounds?

Agreed. It just gives me chills the concentration level just unreal.

The one thing I agree with Skip Bayless on, Jerry Rice be the one with the records BUT give me the PLAYMAKER ALL DAY!
