Michael Trigg

Is there a shot at keeping four tight ends?

Is Lupke a lock to make the roster? What’s his role again? Something MM had in mind for him maybe? Then fire MM and give Lupke 5m. That deal HAD to be team friendly, but I don’t see his use here…at all.

He appears to have the ability as a receiver to deliver those "WOW" moments and possibly force his way on the roster as a tight end who brings a different skill set. But I would bet they'd prefer to keep him on the practice squad for a year. His performance during the preseason will determine if they can do that or if some team would claim him on waivers.
Dude is an H-back that you hope the defense doesn’t notice slipping into the flats so that you can hit him for a 15 yard gain.

Schoonmaker is Jake Ferguson 2.0. They are the same player. So unless Ferg is out, there is nothing Schoon brings that is different to this offense. That's why he struggled to find a niche here.

Also, back in 2024 when Ferguson missed substantial time, Schoonmaker produced at around the same level. He's not a bad player. He just doesn't have a role here.
Ferg and Schoon arent close to being the same player.

Schoon is a really athletic guy. But hes not a true football guy. He doesnt play fast.

Ferg is about average athleticaly, but hes a football guy.

Theres also a toughness factor that Schoon doesnt have.

Its like the guy who knows how to fight but doesnt want to get hit vs the guy who kinda knows how to fight but doesnt care if he gets hit 10 times.

Football is not Madden. And players on a team know who the dogs are.

Trigg is at least a year away from being on a roster. Major maturity concerns coming in. Above average athletic ability. Didnt show hed do the dirty work.

When I think Trigg, I think Sam Williams. Just a less overall talented Sam Williams based on position.
