Michael Huff-DB-Raiders
Two league sources tell the Oakland Tribune's Jerry McDonald that it's "no secret" Raiders S Michael Huff is on the trade block.
Huff is going to be hard to trade with that $43 million rookie deal he signed in 2006. It's very surprising that the Raiders would be looking to unload Huff with no viable alternative behind him. Oakland needs a hitter at strong safety so Huff can move to center field and capitalize on his strengths.

I would not mind trading for this guy instead of D. Hall

They are trying to make room to sign DMAC.

Huff is a safety though, last I checked, not a CB. He hasn't played CB since college.

yeah i think we need a reliable playmaking saftey instead of a CB we just need depth and can wait for the draft to get that depth

in this day and age the cap is not really that important if you have people that know how to work the cap you can have anyone you want on your team. there are alot of loopholes in the cap.

Count down until someone says trade Roy Williams, Carpenter, Spears, etc... for him.

yes, but a big part of "working" the cap is not trading players with contracts like this

If we didn't have Roy's contract, the need to re-up Newman, and the need to re-up Hamlin.......I may consider it.

We just don't have the cap space to make it happen. I think Oakland is stuck with him.....unless they restructure it to make it more economically feasible for other teams to trade for him. I will say this, I wouldn't mind being stuck with Michael Huff......

it would work but a big part of it would be the contracts you would be losing and rework them b4 their traded. I just do not make a huge deal over the cap like most around here. how many years have people on here been saying the skins are in such trouble over their cap. but year after year they pay FA big time money. with the new CBA there really is no such thing as cap purgatory.

a 43 million dollar safety? this is one player i believe we can pass.

Al Davis might be interested in trading Huff for Roy Williams. It is Huff's failure to be a hard hitting strong safety that apparently causes his availability, but if he is a good free safety, might Hamlin be switched to strong? Huff's cap hit would stay with Oakland, I think, and Williams' with Dallas.

:)

I'd rather pick up Oakland's Thomas Howard.. him plus Zack Thomas at ILB would be great

So he'd want to trade Huff, a young guy who can cover a little bit, for Roy whose older and can't cover based on the idea that he USED to be able to hit?

Yeah..not buying that.
