ATTENTION!!!! THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL THREAD!
Anyway, yesterday she was in my office building here in Nashville for an "Official visit" but they were having a fund raiser on the floor beneath me. There was relatively few people there, maybe 75 or so showed up. The thing about it that was funny was watching the Secret Service. First of all, access to the building was quite odd in that it was pretty much unfettered. We drove right into the parking garage with no security but when you wanted to leave there was one secret service guy chatting up the female ticket taker at the booth.
Inside the building there were two SS members in the lobby but they just leaned against the wall and talked and didn't stop anyone or anything.
I thought it was funny that they all looked exactly like you would see them in a movie.
When I worked on the two Bush campaigns there were a few of them but most of them were more active in their duties and more toned down. When we entered the elevator my assistant asked why I thought we didn't have to go through security considering who was coming. I thought it was odd as well.
But the SS just seemed very lax in their duties, at least from what I remember from my previous experience.
Anyway, thought I would share because it was kinda funny to see these guys talking into their cuffs and acting all "Secret Servicey".
