He is near the top of the QB talent heap let that sink in for those hoping for a top five QB pick. BPA

Lol, are you really saying that the 1-3 guys are not good because #4 is not that good ?

WOW!
Now that is a post based on an agenda

I just don't see it with cook and haven't all season having watched a number of his games. I used to think his ceiling was Kirk cousins but now I'm not so sure, cook missed a lot of throws, a lot of reads, stared down WRs, and added nothing last nite. I know he's better than that and played a brutal d, but I expected more. I just can't put him in the top 3 QBs in this class.

I'm no Cook fan but when the DL dominates the OL like that, with NO run game, pocket QB has no chance

That was a team loss

If Alabama plays defense against Clemson like they just did against Michigan State, and there are no turnovers, the Clemson Tigers do not have a chance.

you might want to watch some Watson highlights the guy is accurate as well he just does what he has to do to win there best receiver had a neck injury earlier this year a key wr was sent home and hey still find a way to win and win convincingly at that stage if he beat Alabama in the national championship game that will be big but I'd be mad because then people start jumpin on the bandwagon but he is the #1 QB prospect next year to me.. yall keep underestimating the skill set of Watson vs Alabama they are creative over at Clemson on offense as well

Good point. When I was at the game Bama's dline totally dominated Michigan State's oline. However, Cook is not an accurate QB. He is tough though with a quick release.

No I was saying before the game I thought he(Cook) was the most talent laden QB, after the game I think Goff is now the top of the heap. I am saying in my opinion this QB draft class is not top heavy. If the Cowboys see something I will give them the benefit of the doubt, but if they are future SB winners/Franchise QB's they are very well disguised. BPA or risk living through a Vinny Testaverde/Drew Bledsoe tenure which was never good enough and had opposing defenses salivating. I am talking about this year's QB draft being deep but no elite talent. All of these guys fall behind Winston, and Mariota from last year. Next year these guys would be second tier to Brad Kaaya, and Patrick Towles. IMO so why do we not try and get a trade for a draft pick next year when the talent is there and readily visible? Try and find an agreement on the top QB this year is difficult.

Cook sure didn't look like a fellow who had played in 30 plus games in college. Telegraphed his throws and didn't throw any of his guys open. Not much mobility at all. Bama made him look like Weeden.

But the fact that Cook is not that good says NOTHING about Lynch or Goff or Wentz which is what you were implying

If romo had stayed healthy and the cowboys went 12-4 but the other 3 NFC teams were horrible that would not mean the Cowboys were no good. I think that if the scouts feel that Goff and Lynch are top 10 picks i would have no problem if the Cowboys took one of them because I gave little doubt that Romo is not going to play 16 games next year. It is unlikely we will pick top 5-7 next year

I think Cousins is way better than Cook, don't see any trait in Cook which will make him a NFL starter.

I agree Cook is completely independent of the rest of the talent pool as an individual, you have misunderstood me, I am like you if our scouts feel Goff or whomever is worthy I have no problem. I so hope you are wrong on Romo for next year as we have a real talent that will be missed when gone. If those scouts do not see a top ten talent I think we have to scheme on getting a first rd pick next year and that might entail trading this year's pick for a next year's pick. A ordinary QB will not be welcomed in Cowboy land of that I am quite sure.
You have brought up a great point someone has to decide on this QB talent pool it all comes down to trust. After these last three drafts they have my trust. That Travis Frederick pick won me over, he was so well disguised as a pro bowl player. Lets hope we can keep catching lightning in a bottle this year.

I have a friend that believes that Dallas would not draft A'Shawn Robinson for the same reason did not draft Sharif Floyd. That would be Robinson does not fit the type of defensive lineman that fits Marinelli's system. The Ole Miss DT with the long, difficult name is better suited for Marinelli's defense.

Personally, I think if a guy makes plays - then draft him. Robinson and Ragland makes plays!

I think Robinson is a far better player than Floyd, he is bigger, stronger and quicker. I like Maranelli, but he would be nuts not to be pounding on every table in that war room if he's available when the Cowboys pick.

If Dallas cannot get Goff, then taking Robinson certainly is not a bad thing.

Robinson will probably be a high riser in the draft; he was already thought of to be in the 10-20 range, but I could see him meriting consideration even higher.

Ive already seen him mocked in the top 10. Could even be off the board when we pick. Lineman could go top 3 in this draft with Tunsil, Stanley and Robinson 1, 2,3

He isnt really near the top. He was considered by most experts to be a 2nd rounder before this game and could fall further.

True some had him second rd but most had first rd like most of the QB talent pool at the top.

But over the last two months of the season well below both Goff and Lynch. He was a candidate for the top 10 in preseason based mostly on projection and that fact that there was alot of questions at the top of the class. Once he didnt evalate his game and Goff and Lynch burst on to the scene his stock steadily declined.

I don't even think teams will be thinking of him in the first round and could easily wind up a 3rd or 4th rounder

There is such a lack of elite talent that I think there will be some reaches and he will be top of the reach pile after Lynch and Goff. Goff has some issues(Utah 5 interceptions not all his fault) do not strictly swallow that last performance against Air Force(He did play well and above expectations).
I can live with Goff if the scouts see something but for me it is hard to imagine greatness and use of top 4 pick.
here was my worklist for preseason this year so you can see my thought process:

1Jeremy JohnsonAuburn
2Connor CookMichigan State
3Jared GoffCal
4Patrick TowlesKentucky
5Christian HackenbergPenn State
6Trevone BoykinTCU
7JT BarrettOhio State
8Carson WentzNorth Dakota State
9Cardale JonesOhio State
10Everett GolsonFlorida State
11Dak PrescottMississippi State
12Malik ZaireNotre Dame
After the season and before the bowl games I know some are not draft eligible
Connor Cook
Paxton Lynch
Jared Goff
Gunner Kiel
Christian Hackenberg
Carson Wentz
JT Barrett
Cody Kessler
Trevone Boykin
Cardale Jones
Everett Golson
Kevin Hogan
Dak Prescott
Joshua Dobbs
Malik Zaire
Patrick Towles

Where is Brandon Doughty from Western Kentucky? He could be the best of the bunch. If Dallas grabbed him in the 3rd round, I would not cry.
