Mickey makes some good points here about Pollard. How will Pollard's speed be effected as they won't know for some time yet.

And also the effects of Zeke in short yardage situation
Which hurts his YPC average, but valuable also for the TD's and 1st downs. My words not his.
7 of his 12 TD's were from 1 yard. 12 of his 14 3rd and 1 runs were fro 1st downs.
But he still said he needs to reduce his pay, as we all been saying.

He talks about Dak's contract, and did anyone know TB will take a $35 million cap hit in dead money from Brady retiring? Right now, Dak, tied (3 way) for 6th highest, but could very well drop out of the top 10 soon.

In 2024, when the new TV contracts kick in, the cap is expected to be around $256 million. So remember they will be planning for that into any contracts.
But they have a lot of work to do to get below the cap this year, about $16 million over.

Of the top 3 Dallas FA's, ranked at 16, Shultz, 47, Wilson, 71 LVE in the top 100.

Anthony Brown starting on field rehab, so that is a good sign, though he is a FA.

A good article with some good info, though I know many won't read it, will just give the usual shill Mickey stuff. But have at it.

It's funny DC.com had another article yesterday saying Pollard will be ready by training camp and it is no big deal.

I say draft a RB that can run inside and turn a corner some. We can find fresh legs at round 4 in the draft and we will have an upgraded backfield.

Is he advocating for keeping Elliott? Why does he not point out that Elliott has a terrible contract and even with a paycut, they'd have a ton of cap space tied up into a declining TB?

Further, why do you need to use a 1st round pick on a TB? Are there no TBs capable in this draft outside of the 1st round? Is FA void of quality vet TBs?

He is running back who can no longer run…..no other factor should matter.

so pay him a large number. even if its renegotiated to be a short yardage back. how many of those are in the draft that can get 1 or 2 yards.

come on now. time to let zeke go. cut the ties already.

Nobody annoys me more than Mickey Spagnola. He acts like fans are dumb, and only he knows what he's talking about.
There are a lot of knowledgeable fans on this forum, but we’re actually a small part of the fanbase. Spagnola is the corny, generic “expert”/company man for the casual fans (the unwashed masses). Too slow and predictable for the fanatic.

I don't think he was saying keep Elliot at all. Not at his current price.

He does come across as condescending at times.
I notice it is mostly the more negative fans that do not like him, because they do not agree with him.
It works both ways also.

He doesn't really need to act like it.. Most fans ARE dumb. I like Mickey.. Yes he can be annoying at times.. but I enjoy his perspective most of the time. Even if the delivery can come off wrong sometimes. Nobody's perfect.

He did not say pay him more.
even if he takes a pay cut. time to move on. get a young guy in draft, we have pollard for at least one year. Davis adequate 3rd stringer and there are always UDFAs that with some work can provide some spark of difference kinds to the team. zeke is getting older, slower. his time is done. in football you can't get sentimental.

Pollard has proven he can do both. We just need a capable back-up to share the load and step into prime time when Pollard goes down. Loads of depth at RB this draft.

Not disagreeing at all. Was just posting what was in the article.
Cost vs. production is the big factor not value vs. cost if that term makes sense.

Pollard has not shown he can handle the load of a full game, yet alone a full season.
And you say when Pollard goes down, meaning he is injury prone? Which he has been injured the past 2 years, since his production increased.
He is not worth a big contract for a split role player. and neither is Zeke worth his for the same. He too has been injured the past 2 years.

Need to draft a RB regardless, as Davis is not the answer either.
