I’d grab a FA, then draft a guy in the third or fourth. Together with Pollard and Davis, our RB room would be BETTER than last year.

Thought I read somewhere that Quinn had a connection with D’Ontta What’s-his-name. A battering ram with wiggle.

He doesn't really need to act like it.. Most fans ARE dumb. I like Mickey.. Yes he can be annoying at times.. but I enjoy his perspective most of the time. Even if the delivery can come off wrong sometimes. Nobody's perfect.
I'm not disagreeing with that. I probably hate Cowboys fans 2nd to Eagles fans. However, there are many knowledgeable fans that he'll dismiss because he thinks he's the only one that knows what he's talking about (imo).

Sounds like some posters on here. (not you) but in general. Many people are one sided and nothing will change their mind. Rather they are right or wrong in the grand scheme of things.
sometimes that can be good or bad though.

the things this front office does just boggles the mind sometimes. I loved pollard on his rookie deal and healthy. but i agree with what Mickey says below.

"Let's face it, Pollard has never been a No. 1 running back. Not at the University of Memphis. And certainly not during his first four seasons with the Cowboys."

Which means paying him 10/yea is dumb. Especially coming off a leg injury they believe he may miss games. The cowboys are too slow in realizing that RB's are typically at their best within the first 3 years in the league and after that they begin slowing down. That is why Zeke wanted that extension so bad even though he had a year left on his rookie deal plus they cowboys could have used the 5th year option for him being a 1st round pick. Had they done that and not paid zeke a stupid extension pollard would have been used more earlier in his career and not wasted his speed sitting on a bench.

24/7 rent free :lmao:

I was giving some facts and numbers from the article, but you just do your usual crap.
The only "crap" around here as you call it is your defense of Zeke when everyone else wants him gone.

Zeke sucks. Time to move on!

Spagnola likes to take the dumbest twitter takes and call ins and argue that.

If you want to make a claim that short yardage affects his average then fine. You don't just point out how many times it happens and think that is a compelling argument. At the very least we should see what the adjustment results in by biasing them out of the average. Even better would to be to provide context to see how other runningbacks are affected by the same dynamic because Zeke is hardly the only RB used in short yardage.

Vast majority of men are not interested in the truth. They are interested in being right. Sophistry makes people stupid.

Zeke is a power RB.

50+ of his rushes were for 1st downs.

He had a career low in rushes. 231 [the missed games hurt]

Need to get that number back up to 300+ in 2023.

300 carries is folly IMO. Split carries both no more than 250 is much better.

The Dallas FO would look likely favorably on keeping Zeke around if he agreed to what they propose as their acceptable pay cut. I say this as my idea of what their intentions are, not necessarily what I'd prefer if I were them. Jerry has always been a fan to a great extent, likely even far more so than taking the position of an average GM. Of course, Zeke refused to take a pay cut in the past, so with that in mind, anything seems possible. It's also undeniable that his value has declined since then, so the final result might well be interesting to observe.

Pollard has not shown he can handle the load of a full game, yet alone a full season.
And you say when Pollard goes down, meaning he is injury prone? Which he has been injured the past 2 years, since his production increased.
He is not worth a big contract for a split role player. and neither is Zeke worth his for the same. He too has been injured the past 2 years.

Need to draft a RB regardless, as Davis is not the answer either.
Absolutely not.. Dude missed a ton of games in college due to injuries. Very good back, but can't trust him to be your lead dawg if the #1 goes down because he's very likely to go down himself.

Mickey makes some good points here about Pollard. How will Pollard's speed be effected as they won't know for some time yet.
Mickey makes whatever points Jerry tells him to make.

Sputnik media has more journalist integrity than Spagnola. He is our very own Bagdad Bob.

The real news here is Jerry has decided to retain Zeke and now Mickey is carrying that water trying to convince us why it's a good idea.

If Zeke and his agent decide to decline the pay cut that staying would entail then Mickey will change course and be the first one writing about how Jerry told ol' Zeke to take a trip to El Paso.

RBBC is superior anyway unless you have a future HoF stud toting the rock.

It's funny DC.com had another article yesterday saying Pollard will be ready by training camp and it is no big deal.

I say draft a RB that can run inside and turn a corner some. We can find fresh legs at round 4 in the draft and we will have an upgraded backfield.
Huge upgrade!

I love the kid Isreal out of Pitt. You team him with Pollard and bring in a FA thumper as the 3rd back and its it would be incredible.
