Mickey tries to explain some contracts. I don't know how much he knows about the subject, so it would be interesting to see replies from a few of the cap experts on here. I wish he would have added Le'veon Bell's deal with the examples he gave.

He mentions the game will be televised on the Cowboys Broadcast Network, but does that mean it will still be on CBS 11 local, or 21. Which is still out on DTV. As he mentions the NFLN will have the 49ers announcers when they broadcast it. . As then we will here their perspective more on SF.

There is an app that DTV refers you to, called locust.com that you can sign up for free, to get access to CBS 11, but not KXTA 21.

I agree with Mick.

So the point here is, don’t get bamboozled by those inflated numbers bloated by non-guaranteed base salaries, non-guaranteed roster bonuses, incentives and escalators. And see, what teams are doing is giving up smaller signing bonuses so the proration does not eat into their salary cap if a player is released, and are using roster bonuses that don’t prorate over the course of the deal, some guaranteed, some not. Word to the wise: Always find out first what’s guaranteed.
