Some info from Mickey. Pretty much says what we already been saying. Getting the roster to the point of taking BPA without reaching for a player of need. Especially in the 1st round. But he does a good summary of it.

Some other interesting info as well. Pretty much straight forward stuff, no rah-rah team stuff.

A few interesting comments about the NCAA Women's basketball championship as well. And MM's take on how tough it is to win SB's with 2 different teams.

God bless Mickey he sure does like the taste of the cool aid. I guess when you get paid to drink it always tastes better.
he likes the taste of the Jerry "Jim Jones" punch. He says the same thing Mickey, every year at this time.A true Jerryite.

He was straight forward, but the hate is preceded.
I bet neither of you even read the article.

Mickey “Jones” Spagnola, lol.

I don’t hate Mickey. I just find his work repetitive more than insightful. He works for the Cowboys so I‘m sure he is somewhat handcuffed on what he can say.

But my distaste for his work has more to do with how he treats people on the radio who question some of his party-line opinions. He used to be on Dallas sports station the Ticket, but he was so rude and argumentative on any kind of question that went against the kool aid script, they got rid of him. He bristles at even a suggestion of criticism of the Cowboys brass.

Big Man: The Cowboys must thank their lucky stars they were able to re-sign free agent defensive tackle Hankins to a one-year deal. That is a big deal to bulk up the middle of their defense, especially since the Cowboys need to greatly improve their run defense.
Well, that is a short term answer (one year deal) and doesn't fully end the need at DT at all.

Exactly, we get he works for the Joneses, but, Does he have to be an arse about it? They even gave him his own "Mick Shots" or something in the Cowboy's media because no one else can stand working with him.

Actually they did not get rid of him, when they switched from the Ticket to the Fan as the flagship station, Mickey had to transfer over, and Fish came on in place of him.
I don't listen to him on anything anymore. Only see his articles on the mothership site.
I do think he is condescending to fans at times.

The entire thing with the ticket soured after about 3 years. Which ended when the Ticket was bought out as well, Clear Channel did not want to have that contract or renew it.
I do think Jerry tried to dictate what could be said and not said, and it did not sit well with anyone there. They claimed they mutually parted ways, as the station wanted to move in a different direction as far as sponsors and advertising. As Jerry wanted certain sponsors he had contracts with. I think anyway.

That was the way the Musers put it on one of their shows. But you could tell there was a lot of tension going on, but hey towed the line and said it was ...mutual....
That is how I perceived all of it.

Fans hate Mickey because he tries to keep a positive attitude. Which goes against many fans on here, therefore the dislike. I just read his stuff, and don't like or dislike him, to me it is Cowboys info from another source.

Maybe this thread should be deleted. Or locked. I thought about even posting it. As I knew it would turn into a mickey hate thread, as fans can't have a real football discussion over anything.

well said and true. He's guarding his pension Check like a hawk. Its very simple. He's just not gonna rock the boat. To be fair I guess, there are others of his ilk at the star just like him.

Don’t worry about that Jazzy. I appreciate that you posted it. People’s reactions to Mickey are always polarizing. That just comes with the territory. Again, I appreciate seeing a lot of diverse things here even though I’m not a Spags fan.
