How hard is to fix an obvious problem?

from what i heard wade say, it isnt a serious problem til folk misses a crucial fg at the end of the game to win or not

to me that is hiding or trying to cover up your mistakes and not admit a mistake, so you try to say oh no worry, he will work it out or we will win; dont worry, wait till it happens,

that to me isnt a head coach;

It's not that easy. At all. It takes some athletic ability and very good hand-eye coordination. That's why Jimmy had Novacek do it, because he had the best hands on the team.

It's not surprising at all IMO that McBriar can't do it. He's on the team because he can punt the ball a long way and that's it.

you would figure out of 53 players on the team they could find a good holder

i think it boils down to this, some of the players dont care to do it, so they dont really want to work at it, to get it right, because wade refuses to see its a problem, so why should the players see it as a problem;

MBIII is a good, but not great back. I personally thought that we overpaid for his services when he got his new contract when we could have signed a guy like Michael Turner instead for comparable money. Barber "HAS" been a touchdown machine near the goal line, but I really think he is being misused as the feature back. He is best used as a "closer back" when his lack of top end speed is not as much of an issue, because the defense trying to defend him is fatigued and no longer playing at peak performance.

People have been making this exact same post for about 18 months now. The question is why is he still being used as a feature back?

I can't believe that Joe D is letting McBriar continue holding after the comments McBriar made. An NFL kicker needs a consistent placement in order to kick the ball well. If he doesn't trust his holder, then you're going to see a 50% completion rate, which is where we are. Get a new frickin' holder!

Wade said Hurd was one of the ones working at it. I hadn't thought about him, but he sounds like a good candidate. He has good hands and is an exceptionally hard worker.

Isn't that like saying my car's brakes being shot isn't a problem until I'm heading over the cliff?

The fact is that Barber has sucked for much of this year... And last.

Yeah... not really.

But opinions on who sucks and who doesn't suck aside, my beef is with Mickey's blatant dislike for him. He doesn't like Barber because the guy doesn't talk to the media, plain and simple. Anything he does on the field that he can use as ammunition to fuel his dislike for the guy, he gobbles up.

Everyone wants to talk about how bad he was yesterday, and he was, but Felix and Choice were just as bad if not worse. The entire running game stunk.

True enough.

:laugh1: . This entire thread is ridiculous.

They sold out the pass to stop the run. No one could have run the ball against the Giants yesterday. We probably ran too much. The pass was there for the taking. If you want to complain then do it for that. And we didn't have any deep patterns either.

But don't ***** because we couldn't run against a team stacking the box and run blitzing up the yingyang.

Most of you are morons.

Spagnola is simply showing his lack of perspective, which occurs quite often.

He has it out for Barber in particular and has since his favorite in that race (Julius Jones) lost out.

It's true he likes to overly criticize Barber.

Easily one of our most hard working, consistent players on this team that does absolutely everything right.

He didn't have any holes to run through yesterday, he is a guy that doesn't leave yards on the field - and to call him out after 4 years of producing is ridiculous.

Exactly. The running game did its job yesterday which was to take New York out of a pass-first defense. The Giants were determined to stop the Cowboys' running game and they did. But the main job of the running game is to create offensive balance and set up play action and it did that just fine.

New York failed on a majority of plays but took full advantage of a few chances at big plays. Those plays were not flukes and happened because to a man the Giants held their blocks while the Cowboys waited for someone else to make a tackle.

Meanwhile Dallas made several plays New York didn't but failed when the biggest opportunities presented themselves. A key dropped pass on the first drive taking away points. A bad hold on a FG taking away more points. Wildly overthrown passes to Choice and Williams in the 4th quarter that would have made a difference. All of them were easily makeable plays that focused teams rarely fail to convert.

New York made the plays, Dallas choked. You don't see that in the score or the stats, but it's clear Dallas has to get its act together fast.

Barber isn't the same guy and it's quite obvious right now... I think Choice should be the starter.

Our run blocking hasn't been the same.

Why are these things mutually exclusive?

No the run blocking hasn't been the same, but its not like this line has provided incredible All Pro level run blocking the rest of Barber's career either.

He's lost a gear and has no discipline anymore. Its obvious just watching him. That's not even remotely the whole reason he averaged 2 YPC this week, but even with good blocking he wasn't going to do much better either.

Some are not calling out Barber. Some are calling out putting your best guy in the best situation. Not entirley 'run'.
