Very good article from Mickey. About John Wooten and Cornell Green. And to Green should be considered next inductee into the Cowboys ROH.

I know many of you do not like Mickey. But this is not a fluff piece, or pumping of sunshine.
Just a very good article about these two guys, for some Cowboys history.

Drew Pearson and Bob Lilly gives a story about Cornell as well.

Well before my time but I like these articles because it puts me on to players I’ve never heard of or familiar with.

Racked up All Pros, SB champion…..not related but got drafted by the NbA but not the NFL. Cool stuff. Certainly has the credentials to be in the hall..

They need to honor, HOF/ROH these deserving players before they pass.
It really bugged me that Chuck Howley was in very poor health before he made the Hall,
and did not have time to enjoy it.
Tex Schram made the ROH and passed before he was able to be honored at a game.
Don't get the slow walking of these things SMH !!!

Should have happened years and years ago.

His brother was also the first Black player to play with the Boston Red Sox.

Cornel Green never played college football
5 Pro Bowls at CB and S, one of only a handful of players who ever accomplished that back when the Pro Bowl was just barely less than All Pro
3 First String ALL All Pros and 1 second string

Never sniffed the HOF while lesser players have gotten in

Speaking of Drew, when asked what he remembers of Cornell Green, having played two seasons with Cornell, along practicing against him, Drew had this fond memory occurring during a training camp practice his 1973 rookie year.

"Cornell taught me how to run my routes," Drew said.
Wow think about that for a few minutes!!!

Their family, get the wreak, the benefits of immortality, but you are absolutely right, get the player in before he’s gone

The Hall of fame voters purposely keeps guys out if they feel one franchise has too many players in already. They say they don't do that but they do. In other words, our team has players that don't get in, in mass because of the optics. Its a shame.
