I believe in playing the best player regardless of draft position or salary.Competition, for what? We have Dak for 3 more seasons. His dead cap is massive. Can't cut him this year or next year. The killer, right at the start of 2026, add another 45M to Dak's 2027 dead cap. We have to hope he can play for 3 more seasons.
Let me borrow that book....I'll throw it at a few guys around here! LolNot you...I've never seen you shrink from a challenge!

Romo made a lot more than Dak, when he lost his job. Some seem to forget that. They need to clean their hate goggles.I believe in playing the best player regardless of draft position or salary.
That isn't going to change anytime soon. As long as this franchise is more interested in brand over football this will be the case.Dak or no Dak, expectations not lofty this year.
These Dak defenders are just running on hope at this point. They think that if they defend it enough, it'll come true. They only see what they want to see.I commend A/C for still defending Dak, but I think he is putting blinders on and ignoring what everyone else can see plain as day.
It's an article of faith for them. After selling that fraud for so long they can't muster the backbone to simply admit that they were wrong. No, better to pick the spineless approach and double down. These Dak defenders are just running on hope at this point. They think that if they defend it enough, it'll come true. They only see what they want to see.
YesI hear you. Did you have the same outrage against the previous QB when he was throwing his costly interceptions, especially in the playoffs?
Dak's biggest fans always deflect back to Romo for some stupid reason. Not for me and I'll bet many in here. The highest paid player in the league can't perform in the playoffs and against good teams. That's a problem. And the Cowboys refuse to bring in any competition for him. So we're stuck in Groundhogs Day until Dak retires.
Not really sure why these folks think that objection to Dak is somehow equal to approval of Romo. It's like their minds can't comprehend a world where someone could hold the position that both Romo and Dak suck in their own way and are both limited QB's.
Yes, play the best player. No argument from me. I'm just talking about not being able to cut someone.I believe in playing the best player regardless of draft position or salary.
There is no healing in this situation. You can't have a ridiculous dead cap and maintain your current team. The contract was given to try to win now, not heal. You can't do both. There would be no reason to pay Parsons. On the 5th or 6th day of league year 2026, Dak's 2027 dead cap goes up from 55M to 100M. Much worse if they cut him sooner. That's not healing, that's breaking up the team. Unless someone trades for him, Dak is here 2-3 more years. But of COURSE you can. It depends on when you want to start the healing. Sooner? or Later?
Just curious, what costly interceptions did Romo throw in the playoffs?I hear you. Did you have the same outrage against the previous QB when he was throwing his costly interceptions, especially in the playoffs?
You see...when you do something like a home renovation...things get WAY worse than they were before you started. You thought it was bad when you didn't like it...then you start tearing things up and it's BAD! That is the 'dead cap space" you gotta get through. There is no healing in this situation. Well...there's the "workaround" right?I hear you. Did you have the same outrage against the previous QB when he was throwing his costly interceptions, especially in the playoffs?
I'd say your library is plenty stocked.Let me borrow that book....I'll throw it at a few guys around here! Lol
The thing Is the Chiefs supposedly great front office couldn't win anything with Alex Smith who wasn't bad but had a weak arm.You can’t win a Super Bowl consistently with any quarterback. Two exceptions in this league. Both with the great franchise backing them.
Sadly, this is spot on.The thing Is the Chiefs supposedly great front office couldn't win anything with Alex Smith who wasn't bad but had a weak arm.
So Mahomes made that coaching staff great. And Belichick hasn't won anything without Brady. What really bothers me is Alex Smith wasn't bad but like Dak he just wasn't good enough. And yet some Cowboys fans want to blame everyone but Dak including the coaching staff. The real issue is Dak is holding the team back. Sure he was a breath of fresh air when Romo was getting hurt but once the better teams figured out what bothers him he is a one trick pony who can't adjust.
