Mickey: Do Not Minimize Dak's Availability

This thread became the Dak Haterade vs. the Romo Haterville. The only QB this franchise's fans never booed was Staubach. Other than that, even Troy, with his 3 SB rings, was booed mercilessly at the end of his career.
It always does, right?

It's usually just a very few (like 1-2) that blow hard on the embers.

Dak was sacked 21 times in the 8 games he played. That would have expanded out to 45, his 2nd highest season total in his career.

His 28 hits in 8 games was on pace to be 59, his highest for a season.

His 80 pressures was on pace to be 170, his highest for a season.

His Hurry passes of 31 was on pace to be 65, his highest since his rookie year when most of those came from inexperience.

I would say Dak was on the run a great deal more than two or three times.
Are you trying to prove his lack of mobility? Pretty good job I;d say.

What excuses do I make for Dak? Name any. If anything, I call him out when he does wrong. On the other hand, you Romoholics NEVER blame or call out Romo for anything. Never. THAT is the difference.
No, the difference is, Romo is not the starting QB, Dak is. An you make all kinds of excuses for Dak, so don't backpeddle now.

Just curious, what costly interceptions did Romo throw in the playoffs?
lol. I think I can crank out accurate information to complete this assignment.

Game situation - Giants leading 21 -17, 4th Quarter, 16 seconds remaining, 4th down, ball at the New York 23-yard line. Click here for the video to show the interception between marks 8:33 - 8:44 only.
__________

Do not click here for the perfect, back-of-the-endzone pass to a just-above-jogging Patrick Crayton on the previous third down play with 21 seconds remaining between video marks 8:23-8:32 only.
__________

Game situation - Minnesota leading 17-3, 1:14 remaining in the third quarter, 3rd down, ball at the Dallas' 20-yard line. Click here for the video showing the interception between marks 4:43 - 5:08 only.
__________

Do not click here for an entire 4:05 video exhibiting how the Vikings' front harassed Romo all four quarters
__________

All interceptions thrown by all quarterbacks are costly. There should always be some form of deductive reasoning for understanding the causes behind any interception. Unfortunately, I have found that is not commonly the case for a significant number of observers at any level of the game.

I digress though. Answer: gunslinger Tony Romo threw a total of two costly interceptions out of 185 total passing attempts (link) in six playoff games during his career.

I think his stats will mimic his rookie year. Very mundane but steady. Because we will have a good running attack and good enough defense.

What excuses for Dak? Name them.
Wha, wha, Dak does not have enough "weapons"! Every time he screws up, he does not have any weapons. That is just one of many. lol. Then the defense, the oline, the receivers, it just goes on and on, homie.

Yeah you can keep wishing and hoping and envision all that that doesn't mean it's going to happen I heard might literally lie to us and say he's going to commit to the run game no matter what it doesn't matter if it was going to be two to three yards per carry he was going to stick to it until it worked he didn't do that he literally abandoned the run game used the wrong people the first half of the season and yeah I'm glad Mike's gone but we've heard this before..

And by the way I wouldn't call it mundane I mean the Great Late Hall of Fame Troy and Roger had mundane stats compared to some of these quarterbacks nowadays I mean yeah when you have a run game and you have a dominant offensive line and a good defense you got to have good defense yes to go along with all of it so you don't have to have a high scoring game then sure they can stick to that plan and hope it works that's pretty much all quarterbacks I mean that's pretty much all teams if you have a balance team you don't need a quarterback to throw for 5000 yards and 40 touchdowns and you know 20 interceptions I mean literally just chucking in all over the lot.
I think there's a stat running around somewhere that Jalen hurts and the offense they led the league in attempts in runs and yards per round and all that stuff but they were almost dead last and passing attempts not all passing stats but that is exactly what you just called mundane i'm glad everyone sees Dayland hurts as a very average quarterback that literally was carried into the Super Bowl and got a Super Bowl win because of his defense offensive line and run game and his coaching I mean yes it's all important the same thing was with Troy and Roger they were carried by their run game in their defense which starts with the trenches we haven't had that in a while here even when we have a great run game and a really good offensive line it was just in a regular season as soon as they came across a team that can slow that and stop the run and dare you to throw into a full zone and only have to use about 4 down lineman to stop your run and put pressure on your quarterback that's where it all became a problem..

Team is head nearly 31 thousand yard receivers in a in a year and they and they've had great runners some of the best runners in the league with Demarco Murray and Ezekiel Elliott but it was all in the regular season as soon as he got to the playoffs that stuff was slowed down or at least got under control they weren't dominant they weren't physical into trenches and then it threw everything off balance..

I mean it's all there in black and white just about all the playoff losses just go back to the last five playoff losses you'll see there's no run game at all and you're getting your butts kicked in the trenches and then you had one game the offensive line was responsible for 11 penalties how are you supposed to play quarterback with that mess?/..

The thing Is the Chiefs supposedly great front office couldn't win anything with Alex Smith who wasn't bad but had a weak arm.
So Mahomes made that coaching staff great. And Belichick hasn't won anything without Brady. What really bothers me is Alex Smith wasn't bad but like Dak he just wasn't good enough. And yet some Cowboys fans want to blame everyone but Dak including the coaching staff. The real issue is Dak is holding the team back. Sure he was a breath of fresh air when Romo was getting hurt but once the better teams figured out what bothers him he is a one trick pony who can't adjust.
Without Belichick Brady doesn’t win in New England. I don’t know where you people make the stuff up in your mind. With this mindset, I guess Tony Romo sucked as bad as Prescott. It’s a teen sport. Jimmy Johnson sucked in Miami. But he was good in Dallas. Another stupid statement.

Time for bedtime stories! smh

Truth.

That's not an excuse. It's a FACT. Even the biggest names in sports media are saying the same. Sounds like you can't handle the truth when it comes to Dak.

lmao, you are just saying the same thing in reverse!

Now, that is the truth, right there. I already know the truth, seen it for nine coming up on ten years.

To me, a costly interception cost you the game when it shouldn't have. Look to Brett Favre in the NFC championship game against the Saints.

In 2007 Romo had a 4th and 11 with 16 seconds left and no timeouts from the 23 yard line. If he could pull that off, that would be a miracle win. Staubach did something similar back in 1975 on a 4th and 16 to Pearson a few plays prior to the Hail Mary. Those are heroics. No one would have called Roger a choker if he couldn't convert a 4th and 16 against the Vikings on a muddy field. People are grasping at straws and ignoring everything else that happened. Especially when they bring up Dez not catching the ball. I'm sure it was Staubach's fault the Cowboys had to settle for a field goal when Jackie Smith dropped the TD pass.
