Mickey: Do Not Minimize Dak's Availability

This has been debated at length, do you really believe those teams were built the same...even if we take out the GM no cap had alot to do with it. Now Troy is Troy and Dak is Dak but those 90's team were FAR AND AWAY better, hell most of the backups would have started on other playoff teams.
Right I know. I hate the way Jerry been running things for decades..

But don't spout at me Troy had a different GM than Dak. Figuratively? maybe, sure. But factually NOT TRUE!

So I will call out that lie...mkay? Jerry did secure Jimmy...so you gotta live with it.

Keep telling yourself that.
They had no salary cap and could do what ever they wanted to do. Along with what seems to be 100 draft picks.
It was not all Jimmy.
If Jerry has any problems.... This one is it.

he loves his people, he loves his decisions, he rewards faithfulness. I mean...I do what my boss says too....very grateful. Just a bit smaller check.

He buys and sells what he wants as he wants when he wants. He's never been able to adapt to someone being the boss of him. Salary cap killed the real Jerry.

In several instances, Milton struggled to get through his reads and was forced to roll out and enter the scramble drill, which isn't the worst thing for his skillset but being able to see the field from the pocket is certainly an area of his game where improvement will be needed, especially if he's going to be relied upon as the backup quarterback should Dak Prescott not be available.

The one aspect about George Pickens that his new coaches and teammates were complimentary of early was how he approached the film room and working to get up to speed with the offense.

In Tuesday's practice, it was clear that Pickens was still getting a feel for his new team, learning the ropes and focusing more on stepping back and observing how things were meant to be done. In one instance, Dak Prescott took some time to go over to him after a play and talk some things through with his new receiver on where he was supposed to be, what route to run, etc.

Now that Pickens will participate in his fifth OTA session since joining the team, it'll be interesting to watch how in sync he is with the offense and if he begins to start to move towards the front of the lines in drills instead of sitting back and learning.

Oh...so we might get a QB who can scramble. Cool.

Jimmy quit...didn't he? I know nobody "runs me off" until I'm dam good and ready. Then he went and did ...what?

Those were good years. Spoiled us. But...dude...gotta give jerry some credit for Jimmy...as painful as that is NOW.

That's right. Jerry hired Jimmy. Dude...you are not making any sense here. Ya drinking today? That's cool but....
He started off great, knowing he was over his head as a new Owner, and needed a great football mind. Since then it has been all down hill for GM Jethro.

How they hell do you screw up a Dynasty?

Now he thinks he is the smartest man in the business, with no results on the field.

I'm just throwing this out there, cap hit in 2025:
Dak $50m
Mahomes $28m
Allen $36m
Hurts $42m
Purdy $9m
Lawrence $17m (who gets brought up a lot)

Dallas doesn't have a defense this year and that is Dak's fault. Or Jerry's fault for giving him that deal. Whatever. When the team loses 28 to 40 in the first round of the playoffs or doesn't even make them due to defense, let's keep this in mind.

Dude has a cap hit 22 MILLION DOLLARS higher than Patrick Mahomes.

I remember dak saying he shouldn't be in the conversation being the highest paid QB until he won a SB...that didn't age well.

So when Mahomes is $78M in 2026 and $74M in 2027, whose fault will that be?

It won't be anyone's fault, because they have a GM that will redo his contract correctly.
