Mickey talks about some stats.
And also has concerns about the defenses. As I do also. As I been saying they leave too many wide open receivers.
Mickey addresses this as the NYG are good at the perimeter plays getting chunk yardage with their WR's.

This is where Diggs can be that difference. Get some picks, then force throws to the other side. As DQ can roll a safety for coverage help for Brown.

Don't worry we got Brown and a Couple rookies on the Bench that should correct this . . . and if it doesnt . . . we got our sixth rd pick next year which will help.

And if all that doesnt help we can trade for a game changing DT .

Or so I've heard

holy crap man get over Gilmore….he’s a 31 yo injured cb that wanted to be paid 10 to 15 mil and has a price tag of 7 this year which about 3mil more than we have in cap space.

the young guys are coming together, let them keep improving and enjoy the ride

idk how you cut down on chunk plays in todays nfl because rules are so slanted to the offense

my only requirement is the defense be better than last year which they are

Good luck with that DT trade or draft. :muttley:

I don't think we have our 6th round pick next year, it was traded to Houston for Anhou, a DT last year, or was it in 2019, can't remember.

Keep dreaming if you think any of them will improve to Gilmore's level of play this year . . . its unfair to ask

We are not a championship contender because CB2 is weak . . . point blank

And there is no help coming . . . sure the rookies will get their feet wet . . . but they will not play sound veteran football.

If Joseph or Wright get on the field as the starter over Brown . . . there will be tons of rookie mistake at the wrong moments in the game . . . especially come playoff time

(Just promise me if Joseph gives up the play that ends the season or just struggles as a Rookie . . . just promise me you will not roast him and make him the whipping boy)

Is Gilmore playing today?

Fair statement that none of the rookies are better than gilmore...but they also don't cost 7 mil and are healthy and eligible to play.

I don't think at four games in we can say this team isn't a contender bc of the cb2 position....that's just too narrow of a sample set and there are so many more things that can happen.

What about when we get dlaw back and the other injured players, what if the line gets more push and the lbs continue to improve? So many unknowns but a lot of promise.

I'm fine with this team passing on him and going with the young guys.

Google it

So your complaining about a guy not eligible to come off pup till after week 6. That's about the same time Joseph should be able to come back. Is Gilmore better, sure. Is he alit better, maybe. But at some point you have to get your high draft picks reps. Especially when you are already up against the cap. There is only 1 way to find out if a ayer can play...and it's not on the sideline.

The Cowboys are loaded this year . . . I see them making a lot of noise but If they were to go deep in the playoffs it will be with luck that whoever is playing CB2 is not exploited.

If we had Gilmore I would be confident in this team.

As it stands all my Hopes are put into an injured Rookie that is slightly controversial . . . what of He gets down on himself this year. . . It could all spiral out of control and He may never be the same.

I just feel like the situation may turn out to be too much for Boss man but I hope for the best.

I felt having Gilmore for one year would really help Boss man. . . because unlike Diggs last year . . . this year the Cowboys have high expectations and some Fans will turn on a player real fast.

I hope Boss man succeeds and has thick skin. Because there are already some who cant wait to turn on him

He’s going to cost the Panthers apx. $5M this season which is less than what the Bengals are paying Awuzie annually.

The Pats put him on IR for roster maneuvering g purposes.

We should have gone for Gilmore at that price but that’s water under the bridge

Regarding chunk plays, these are usually a result of miscommunication or lack of discipline or poor tackling. We need to avoid those

Mickey is right we have to cut down on giving up the splash plays.
This is gonna kill us against the better teams.

I disagree.

Much rather give up splash plays and then buckle down. Less snaps for the defense equals more for the offense and a higher TOP and better chance to win. Bend-but-don't-break is a LOSING strategy. DQ's Seattle scheme was the #1 scoring defense in the NFL for 4 years in a row and they gave up some big plays, even on 3rd and long. But they were the best in the league in ultimately forcing punts and near the top of the league in takeaways as well.

Byron got paid, so then Howard wanted to get paid again, both are playing similar to brown. Gilmore can fall off the cliff at any moment. Happens all the time at his age.
