Right now, I don't care about those draft picks. This year, right now, this team is good on paper. If people don't think Crosby is worth going after to help the team get over the hump, all I can say is I strongly disagree. Id give our 1st for Crosby right now, Brevard I'm worried about this and next season more than I am about a future draft pick.
I have to disagree. I’ve always felt this was at least a two year process, regardless that we seemed to do well this past offseason. I’d rather wait and see what we have first then make a decision closer to the trade deadline.
Thats the way I see it. Its a building year. Im not expecting a good season. I just want to see improvement on the defense and penalties. Then Try and fix what still needs to be fixed next offseason then maybe they can make a run the last 2 years of daks contract.

Incredibly hard for a defense to go from 30th to competing for a chip in just one off-season.
Seattle added a new qb and won it last year. This ain't like the old days. Teams turn over the roster by 25% every year. In 2 years half the team will be different.
Ya but none is then had historically bad defenses.
I've reached the point, after 30 years of failures, that I just want to see the team go for it, even if it crashes spectacularly. Whatever that means, whatever that takes, I'm up for it.

I believe we'll be saying that every year because this isn't the type of team that withstands the test of time. Maybe Pickens leaves next year because he wants too much. Maybe Dak retires. Certainly several players on one-year deals will likely head out the door.
Not arguing with you and I’d normally agree. If this has been Schotts third or fourth year, then yes, do it. I’d prefer to give him one more year to see if he can build on this year. If Jerry butts in again, then we’re screwed regardless.
In 2014 we didn't get there because Demarco Murray fumbled. In 2016 we didn't get there because Aaron Rodgers pulled off one of the most spectacular scramble plays ever seen in the playoffs. Shut can happen.
I think that reflects the problem. The defense wasn't quite good enough either of those years. A few choice free agent additions or strategic trades might have made the difference. The past 30 years show us that we will continue to be also-rans unless we do something different to change that.
In 2014 the defense didn't coast us the game, the offense and that fumble cost us the game. Well... that and the ridiculous no catch call.
