  • Offense: this team is best suited to move the ball and score points running the ball, quick throws and mixing in some PA shots.
  • Dak has had some good games but the early rust was apprarent - hes a very good QB, but not elite and needs talent around him (like most good QBs) to play to his full potential. This season the pass blocking and lack of WR talent is not helping.
  • The OL is very good at run blocking but struggles in pass protection. Below average in team pass block win rate and whenever the game is close it seems like pressure is in Daks' face on the 3rd down.
  • Pollard is turning into a star and is clearly the best runner on the team.
  • Lamb started off slow but is settling into the WR1 role - just needs to clean up the option routes to get on the same page as Dak.
  • Defense: vastly overrated from early in the season. Run defense is well below average, pass D is declining due to injury but pass rush is strong.
  • Parsons is clearly a star - but appears to be slowing down a little. Is he worn out from too much DE or playing injured? I don't know but firmly believe he needs to play more off the ball LBr and rush on pass downs. He's not built for it and we need a ton of help against the run.
  • Diggs is playing like an all pro this year. LAst year was boom or bust and all the picks were fun but he gave up a TON of yards. This year he has erased the yards.
  • Tank is enjoying a pro bowl caliber season - he's healthy and looks great having someone opposite of him to create some 1:1s.
  • We desperately need DT talent and an upgrade over LVE
  • Turping is a game changer and Maher has been a pleasant surprise

It's been a fun ride so far with us still being 6-3 despite playing with a backup a few weeks. I think we'll make the playoffs via the wild card - but will lose our first game do to our defencies in run defense, pass pro and weapons at WR. The worst part is - all of these were concerns in the off season and the Jones did very little to fix it.

Yea, just not sure we have the talent to turn it around.

DQ is going to have to do some magic scheme work.

If the DE’s will just contain that will help a lot. It goes all the way back to the Tampa game. Fournette ran off tackle all game on us. They use our aggressiveness to go get the QB. It’s really simple and fixable. I learned it in Pop Warner the first day they put me at DE.

Damone Clark might be able to help too. The LB core needs a lot of work.

Yup, every DE outside or Tank is not doing anything against the run. DTs are just JAGs and LVE never returned to the rookie we saw after his injury.

I like Clark - but don’t think a rookie coming off a monster injury is going to save us.

Good post, I like the point about the OL folding when the game was on the line on 3rd down.

I think Parsons is hurt. He has been coming off the field and he looked really uncomfortable after the Beas game. Micah seems like the kind of guy who won't say anything.

I think Quinn needs to do something about the LBs position. LVE is an enigma. He makes some good plays but is awful on a lot of plays. I have been harping on it but they need to try Cox on some snaps. He has the speed to get outside which is where RBs seem to get most of their yardage. I assume Barr will be coming back next week so It is even less likely Cox will be activated. Clark had only 7 snaps against GB so apparently he is headed for the same doghouse as Cox.

If Jerry is serious about winning, the FO needs to be doing everything they can to address OT, DT and LBr in the offseason via FA / Draft.

As much as I want Tyron to give us a few more years I think he might be done.

Cox’s speed and pass coverage are his strengths but he’s smaller and lacks physicality. I don’t think he helps the run D which is why I think he’s not playing.

Cox needs to be in the Jaron Kearse role if possible. Just to add a little size. Cox is listed at 233 where Kearse is listed at 215.

Cox is just 7 lbs lighter than Damone Clark. Cox is a OLB, Clark is supposed to be a MLB isn't he?

Right now the Cowboys need pursuits speed to the outside.

Probably not a bad role for him.
If Cox could fill that role (mod Sam role)...........big IF..and fill the Will role at times as well.... and Clark could fill the Mike and Will roles which he seems to possibly be able to...Micah could jump between any of the LB roles, and come from any where, or cover.

Then Dallas could play straight up instead of spending lots of time in stunts, and still get pressure as well as stop the run. .. at least theoretically.

Lol please don't blame the pass blocking this year. Theyve given up 9 sacks, don't try and put blame on them

It’s not just a size thing, it’s a play style and physicality thing.

Clarks scouting report and college tape raved about hit physicality and ability play off blocks. Cox’s did not.

Please use more than just sacks given up to evaluate, it’s 2022.

Great against the run - below average in pass pro.
