Please use more than just sacks given up to evaluate, it’s 2022.

Great against the run - below average in pass pro.
There's no way in hell they give up only 9 sacks, and you can call them below average. Please think before you post

Do you understand there are other things than just sacks that impact getting the QB off schedule? Have you heard of pressures, hits and hurries?

I think before I post.

Yea, but there's no way in hell we're giving up tons of pressure. I've watched the games, Dak has more than enough time to throw. Pass blocking is not an issue. Y'all expect Dallas to have 6 seconds to throw

I don’t, and neither does ESPN / PFF. ESPNs win rate is based off 2.5 seconds.

Thanks for sharing your opinion.

I posted my option, backed by rankings from 2 sites as well as what I’ve been watching.

Having a different opinion than you doesn’t make me crazy.

Move along.

  • Offense: this team is best suited to move the ball and score points running the ball, quick throws and mixing in some PA shots.
  • Dak has had some good games but the early rust was apprarent - hes a very good QB, but not elite and needs talent around him (like most good QBs) to play to his full potential. This season the pass blocking and lack of WR talent is not helping.
  • The OL is very good at run blocking but struggles in pass protection. Below average in team pass block win rate and whenever the game is close it seems like pressure is in Daks' face on the 3rd down.
  • Pollard is turning into a star and is clearly the best runner on the team.
  • Lamb started off slow but is settling into the WR1 role - just needs to clean up the option routes to get on the same page as Dak.
  • Defense: vastly overrated from early in the season. Run defense is well below average, pass D is declining due to injury but pass rush is strong.
  • Parsons is clearly a star - but appears to be slowing down a little. Is he worn out from too much DE or playing injured? I don't know but firmly believe he needs to play more off the ball LBr and rush on pass downs. He's not built for it and we need a ton of help against the run.
  • Diggs is playing like an all pro this year. LAst year was boom or bust and all the picks were fun but he gave up a TON of yards. This year he has erased the yards.
  • Tank is enjoying a pro bowl caliber season - he's healthy and looks great having someone opposite of him to create some 1:1s.
  • We desperately need DT talent and an upgrade over LVE
  • Turping is a game changer and Maher has been a pleasant surprise
It's been a fun ride so far with us still being 6-3 despite playing with a backup a few weeks. I think we'll make the playoffs via the wild card - but will lose our first game do to our defencies in run defense, pass pro and weapons at WR. The worst part is - all of these were concerns in the off season and the Jones did very little to fix it.

You had me at the first sentence. That's what I've been saying since the off season. Run the ball, make short-to-medium, high-percentage routes your bread and butter, while Dak drives the bus, and mix in play action.

Also, Pollard may be the best runner. But he's not the best guy to carry the load of runs for the team until the playoffs, because we need him healthy for the playoffs. I'm fine with Davis and even Ollison who I think could be even better, but you run those guys early in the first quarter, then bring in Zeke and Pollard later on.

We should have a three-headed monster and always have a fresh back in the game.

Yea, I’d love to see us pound the rock and use more quick throws to get the ball out and stay on schedule. Take a few PA shots per game and if we’re throwing it 25/30 times a game for 250 or while running good that’s plenty.

TP doesn’t need to be a horse, but he needs to be our feature guy. I actually don’t mind Zeke starting, TP getting a majority of touches mid game, then Zeke helping close it out. We’ll need them both healthy.

It’s not just a size thing, it’s a play style and physicality thing.

Clarks scouting report and college tape raved about hit physicality and ability play off blocks. Cox’s did not.

All I know is when he played last year, he was making plays. He has the ability to play sideline to sideline. That play he made against the Giants to knock Danny Dimes out of the game and prevent a TD looked like exactly what the Cowboys need now. All I am saying is, why not give him a few plays and see if it helps? It s not a commitment to a long term contract. or to make him a starter. I know what they are doing now is not working. I do not see how continuing to do it is going to suddenly result in a better run defense. I think next year LVE will be gone. So will Barr. It appears Clark and Cox will be the LBs next year unless the Cowboys draft someone else. But before they throw another draft pick at a LB, why not see what they have in the LBs already on the team?

I say this without know the background surrounding Cox. Perhaps there are other issues unrelated to his play on the field that are keeping him from being activated.

If the DE’s will just contain that will help a lot. It goes all the way back to the Tampa game. Fournette ran off tackle all game on us. They use our aggressiveness to go get the QB. It’s really simple and fixable. I learned it in Pop Warner the first day they put me at DE.

Damone Clark might be able to help too. The LB core needs a lot of work.

It really does come to this, teams are using delays and misdirection to overcome the "Upfield push" our defense can get on the edges....I have been saying this all season as people scream for more DT's, love to have Donald but what we have can work if we fix our edges.
