We need to replace Parnell

We have Weems and Hawkins on the roster

Assuming

- We use a 4th-7th round pick in the 2015 draft
- The player should be serviceable year one, if needed (Smith or Free goes down)
- Able to play either side if need be
- Potentially develop into a starter at RT

Who would you target?

We have visited with Gibson, i think. not aware of any others

I'm a big fan of Donovan Smith but I can definitely see him going in the 3rd before our pick. Other than that I'm not too excited by any of these guys. I think we'll end up with more of a project type like Gibson or Cofield. None of these bigger school guys available mid/late rounds seem worth it to me.

Our backup swing tackle is a very important position and we should not be neglecting it,if a top rated OT falls to our 27 th pick then I would take him.we are one more Free injury from the offense being derailed.

BTW I would have an incredably hard time passing on La'el Collins at 27.

I don't think they (a tackle chosen in any of the later rounds) would need to be "serviceable" in year one.

I think Weems will end up being the swing-tackle and any draft tackle will be more or less "red shirted" in year one, allowing them to improve their strength, footwork and overall technique.

Free showed glimpses his rookie year, but he wasn't ready to contribute starting snaps.

Free regressed in year 2 and was only ready to contribute as a starter in year 3.

If you're looking for a late rd pick to have to contribute in year 1, you're in trouble. If they don't think anyone on the roster can step in and be serviceable, they need to bring in a veteran whos cut before the season.

BTW I would have an incredably hard time passing on La'el Collins at 27.

I highly doubt Collins is there. He's my top OT in the draft(I have Scherff as a OG). If he is there, the only guy who might be there I would take over him is Gurley. He's higher on my board.
