You'll love it. I switched maybe 5 years ago and have never looked back.

The only bummer is that the signal can be sketchy in bad weather. I signed a 2 year contract and have been month to month ever since, so I've had 3 years where I could have switched with no problem and still haven't.

It can be pricy once you start adding packages, but I don't have any premiums and I only order Sunday Ticket.

Their customer service is pretty good too, if that kind of thing is important to you.

DirecTV doesn't have their own internet, they typicaly parter with someone else. Here, they partner Verizon but as far as I know they only run DSL, which is generally going to be slower than cable. I get my internet elsewhere.

DTV is the best and it's not even close.

The picture quality on DTV is even better.

Agree about the better picture quality, very noticeable. So noticeable even my wife made a comment the first day "wow that looks pretty good" and she is not into A/V stuff at all.

Document all your discussions, date, time, name, etc... They screwed me over on a DVR when I wouldn't renew my service.
Great advice! I wish I had followed it when I signed up with AT&T! I love the service but they are charging me $60 more per month than what the slick door-to-door salesman told me it would be!

I am thinking about dumping them and going back to Charter for internet and something else for TV service! Now, I wish I had stayed with Charter.
