If we could pick him up in lets say the 4th 5th round?? I was watching some of his highlights he has some burst for a big guy who is bottom heavy. Granted i only saw a 3min highlight video what do yall think? It also will free up the 1st 2nd and 3rd rounds for Defense which is what imo we should be getting

There are a lot of eople who like Mike Davis....I wouldn't be surprised if he was gone before our 3rd round pick to be honest.

Give me David Johnson.

I think he's got crazy potential and people are just looking at what these RBs are now and now what they will be.

In 2 or 3 years David Johnson will surpass a lot of these guys that are currently in front of him.

I wouldn't call him a sleeper but he has the speed to get outside, is a punishing runner, runs inside, can run to daylight, make one cut runs, follows his blocks fairly patiently although this needs some work, and has decent vision. His balance is avg as is his missem'. He doesn't have the quicks but has some burst. He isn't a timid runner. His pass catching is decent and blocking good. I've followed him for three years.

I see him as a workhorse back and would fit into our ZBS well. His stock may climb but there are a lot of RBs in this draft so I still see him as a late 2nd to early third. If he's there at our 3rd round pick I imagine he will be discussed.

Drew Boylhart (the huddle report) loves DJ. He rates him as a #3 RB in the draft and a 1st Rd talent. Says he'll impact the NFL because of the way he runs and can catch the ball as a slot receiver, or coming out of the backfield, as well as any WR in the draft. He loves this kid. Says, any team considering him, should analyze what round they think he'll be picked, and pick him a round sooner.

Drew also likes Davis, but rates Davis as his #7 RB and a 2nd round talent.

Btw, Mike Daivs reminds me of Robert Turbin and I think that is all he will probably ever be in the NFL is a Robert Turbin.

Nothing wrong with that but i'd rather go with the guys we have on our roster then draft a Robert Turbin.

I have him as my #3 as well.

1. Gurley

2. Gordon

3. D. Johnson

4. Yeldon

5. Coleman

Is David Johnson currently the 3rd best rb? No.. He's probably like the 7th or 8th best.

But he's played the position for very little time, hes 226 pounds, super fast, and can catch.

You teach David Johnson to put his foot in the ground and finish runs and you got another Demarco Murray.

Look how big he is and how well he moves for a big guy.

David Johnson better look good, he's probably 2 years older than every guy he played against.

I like him, but I have a hard time drafting any guy who is going to be 24 before his rookie season ends.

Didn't know he was that old..

Still.. His physical ability is superior to all but Gurley in this draft class.

I've watched 3 full games for each of the top 12 RBs. Mike Davis is easily in my top 5. He would be worth drafting at #60 and would be a steal at #91 based strictly on game footage. He is ranked lower by the draft media because of his college stats. His OL was not great relative to the top defensive talent that they faced in the SEC.

We need a guy who can move the chains and he seems to me to fit that mold...I like his size more then anything guys built like a mack truck, and as i mentions and i believe jobber did to has a very impressive burst. He also seemed to me like a smart runner getting out of bounds when he had to not taking the big hit to risk fumbling...i dont know how true that is its just my observation on thwe small sample size i got on you tube

I've seen him play behind Lattimore and then the last two years extensively. I'm confident my evaluation is on point within a reasonable degree of certainty. It depends on what kind of back you're looking for. He could outrun the secondary in college given a step but I doubt he will in the pros so I don't see homerun ability too often. But moving the chains would be great and he would compliment Randle and Dunbar well. I don't know Williams well enough.

I still would not pick a RB unless someone fell into our lap and another player in that tier at our pick was as good and was a defensive player. I don't expect an all defensive draft and there will be surprises. But they should lean that way if possible.

You must have hated the Zack Martin pick then.

OL is a bit different b/c they have much more longevity, but yea I don't like drafting 23 year olds.

I'm not saying take every guy over 22 off the board or anythign like that....but my point is that production for a 22 year old is different than a 20 year old simply b/c of how much more physically mature that guy is.

He was a little too heavy in college, playing at about 225. He dropped down to 217 and ran a 4.5 at his Pro Day which was reported to be a 4.4x by some of scouts.
