Mike Fisher: Cowboys actively making calls and taking calls for trade

Jeez dude, you just refuse to admit when you are in the wrong even when proven over and over. Yes it will 100% make everyone happy because everyone else condemned the quote that came directly out of his mouth and the idea that calling first was dumb and correctly stated it was a completely moronic stance. Why would anyone who knew how dumb the statement was be anything but over teh moon thrilled to hear we are reaching out first? That doesn't even make sense. Of course we want the team to call first if they want to make a deal

You however, in your never-ending quest to defend your incoherent, incompetent hero, said the below in a lame attempt to defend the idea and then kept defending it. So try again. I think it's clear who is doing the back tracking. Just stop it already with this stuff:

"Jerry did make the point, that the phone needs to ring, you do not call around asking for a trade, they must call you.
And he is correct. To the dismay of some fans that do not want to understand that."
Jerry isn't always clear. When he made that comment, he was referring to trading back on draft night. Not trades in general.

There are really only four teams who are desperate to find a QB

Titans - Will draft Ward
Browns - Won’t take Sanders at #2
Giants - Won’t take Sanders at #3
Raiders - Won’t take Sanders at #6

That leaves the Saints (9), Steelers (21) and Rams (26)

Saints are from most indications not interested in Sanders and 9 is way too high for Dart.

Only the Steelers and Rams would need to trade up all the way to 12.

So, someone may take Sanders in the first round, but it’s highly unlikely that #12 is going to be the spot, which means the Cowboys won’t be involved.
,
Those are the teams that have been publicized as wanting a QB. No one thought Atlanta was going to take Penix last year. Let’s do a deeper dive. Are the Colts really happy with their QB situation? They don’t seem sold on Richardson and is Daniel Jones really the answer? In Seattle is Sam Darnold really the answer? Guy was surrounded by tons of talent in Minnesota and flamed out at the end of the year. There may be a team secretly enamored with Sanders. A team that no one suspects. So if he falls to 12 teams like Seattle or Indy may inquire about trading up to get him before Pittsburgh. Or Pittsburgh may want to trade up to make sure another team doesn’t snag him. You just never know because we don’t know how teams have Sanders graded and we don’t really know their intentions. It’s not uncommon for surprises to happen.

This seems like their typical knee-jerk reaction to last year when they said no team was calling them. I hope they really are exploring all options.

My biggest wish in life:
Mickey Spagnola, Mike Fisher and Coogiguy03 (aka Bayless) all get deported to CECOT El Salvador.
Could we add Rowdy, Jerry, and Stephen to that list? Three clowns. One pretending to be a clown and the other two being clowns and not even realizing it.

Wow, wonder if this will make some fans happy they are "making" calls.

Can't wait to see how that gets spun. :muttley:
Maybe they are making calls, because a team left a message. So not them actually making a call, just returning one.
A lot in play here.

But it is from Fisher.
Wonder if Pickens name is involved. Would love to have him opposite CeeDee. But I read several posts the past few days, that he is a knucklehead. If so, how big of a knucklehead is he?
At least it gets us all to share our thoughts...

I really don't care how many holes this team has, I'm sick and tired of 4th/5th & 6th round busts, and I just want 1st, 2nd and 3rd round hits. Just get 3 difference makers and go from there. We need at least 1 franchise changing player, and 2 difference makers and go. I don't care about 4th, and 5th rounders, it's junk anyways most of the time. This is why you have free agency, to fill in the gaps. And if he's too cheap to do that, then we remain trash.
Exactly. We usually hit when we draft 16 and up. In the latter half of the round, the record hasn't been all that stellar. I'd rather just take the BPA than get an extra 3rd who may not even be a starter and some project 1st rounder

Only if you reach to fill that need. In other words, let's say the Cowboys really need a RB, so they take one over a player at another position that they have rated higher. Teams usually do their best to go BPA- best player available- instead.
eh I dont know, if the "reach" is minor I say go for it. If the BPA is at a position where you are stacked it does not help the team as much. Im not specifically talking about the 2025 Cowboys when I say that, just generalizing.

This is a good analysis. It's too bad there isn't a QB needy team at #13- that would make #12 interesting.

I do think folks will be surprised at how high Sanders goes, but who knows.... That will be one of the interesting things about the draft. I'm convinced Sanders will be off the board by #9 (Saints). Giants at #3 would not surprise me at all, nor would the Raiders. Some teams have Dart higher than Sanders too. I think it's very possible that all 3 QB's are gone after the Saints pick at #9. We'll see.....
If three QBs go in the top ten, that would be great for the Cowboys. I just don’t see it happening.

Lovable louts, what could possibly go wrong?
Get up,
Get out,
You lazy louts.
Get into your working clothes.
Up to your knees
In oil and grease
With a grindstone to your nose.

Ah... the halcyon days when my interns and I would paint entire rooms with notated index cards of characters, scenes, situations and colored strings connecting them all with the stories that would fly like winds setting sails to shores unknown.

Those days are gone now.

Pickens is a malcontent who takes off long stretches of games. He might be good for a year but not worth trading for....unless he's a throw in, in order to trade down.
