Listening to Cleveland radio this morning and besides the constant whining about the officiating especially the non review on the Austin fumble or non fumble....interesting bit of info was discussed
The show host was told by a source who was an ex coach that Holmgren s little scene before the game glad handing and back slapping Jerruh on the star was viewed by the coaching fraternity as crossing the line, disrespectful to Garret, and disrespectful to the Browns organization. They also said that it was the hardest Holmgren has worked for three years!
The ex coach then stated that there was no way jerruh would hired Holmgren especially after this rediculous public display

They are good friends.

If Holmgren's behind all this talk, publicly no commenting but privately making a pitch, then I agree. It is disrespectful to our head coach.

Ain't gonna happen. Don't want another washed up Parcells. Next!

Is there an article about this anywheres or is it just what was said on the radio?

I wasn't aware of anything happening before the game.

Holmgren may get hired as Dallas Head Coach... if he is still alive when JG retires.

Do you know what was disrespectful? Giving a QB coach with 2 years of experience an offensive coordinator position. Giving an offensive coordinator with like 3 years of offensive coordinator experience a head coaching job.

no, not really.

The problem apparently was the blatant attempt to make sure it was noticed. Ex coach said if you want to meet with your good friend Jerry then do it up in his suite not on the 50 yard line where it will be noticed and become a topic on NFL countdown

And TOs disrespect of the star prevented Jerry from getting him.. oh wait...

Maybe they were discussing a Consulting job like the one Jerry hosed up with Dan Reeves. If it helps steer the ship right again I could care less who it insults.

They are good friends. Not much of a story here but I wouldn't doubt Holmgren would have some interest here.

Yes. Really. Having one of the best, if not the best TEs in the game; having WRs with rare size, speed, and physical running ability individually, but there are two freaks on the same team. And yet, since 2007, this offense can only manage just over 2 TDs a game. But in the last 48 starts, the QB has taken 101 sacks but that doesn't account for knock downs.

It's like sitting in Moscow in 1990 waiting for Communism to finally unite the workers of the world.

Although I still don't see the issue, Holmgren has already been booted as the GM of the Browns, I don't see why it matters where he meets Jerry when their teams play ... or even if he wears a Cowboys jacket to the game. (What are you going to do, fire me?)

Now, if he's down on the sideline trying to wrestle the headset away from Garrett, then there's a breach of etiquette.

The "coaching fraternity" are who has their nose most out of joint

Browns radio talk show had a burr up their saddle cause holmgren declined to coach the browns but now appears all hot for the cowboys
Cleveland has an inferiority complex almost as big as michigan state spartans have for the michigan wolverines!

Did they mention who in the coaching fraternity is upset about it, or are they using that as an excuse to try to stir something up?

This ex coach basically said it was bad form to be seemingly campaigning for a job currently being held by Garrett using the media to stir the pot

I don't see how he campaigned for anything. Werder's "source" Sunday morning on that story about Holmgren loving our talent was probably Jerry himself... Or simply the pregame show from the week before when, as many of us noted, Jerry said himself that Mike thought we had good enough talent to win.

The Cleveland guys are just mad at him because their team isn't any good.
