Is he trying to convince himself?
Is that McCarthy's fault or the fault of the GM who is responsible for identifying and getting talent?yeah dak aint prime aaron rodgers fatso the qb cant carry u here bozo
Well he has a better play caller than him and he ran him out. He was brought here for his offensive mind which has been the issue. So our struggles in the playoffs, big games, lack of preparation and discipline have shown even when he had a playoff team in Dallas he couldn’t get it done. So no need to bring him back with a coordinator…Jerry would be smart to bring Mike McCarthy back. It's clear this team fought hard for him. This team needs a better playcaller/play designer O-Coordinator.
All of the above. You can't take that away from him....say what you will, but he has something none of us around here does. Did he do it here, no....but, make up your minds, was it MM, Dak or Jerry?
With Jerry in charge , simply rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Can’t argue with his Resume. Best HC Dallas has had since Parcells. I wouldn’t mind keeping him but need to hire an OC.
Reminds me of the Garrett years.Just think, McCarthy won a Super Bowl the same year Jason Garrett took over in-season for Wade Phillips. That's how long ago it was.
And he's using that as his main selling point? Listen, McCarthy is not a bad head coach. There are at least a dozen that had jobs this season that were way worse than him. But at some point you have to wonder if the fit here is right for him. He couldn't get it done after going 12-5 for three straight years. Then Jerry expected more with a stripped down roster this past season.
Yes, injuries played a big part, especially on defense. Yes, it took forever for the offensive line to gel; longer than it should have, probably. But if McCarthy comes back everyone, fans, assistants, players, everyone- will just have the same 7-10 taste in their mouth.
If MM comes back I won't be raving mad. But I think it's time for a change; because the Jones boys sure aren't changing.
The funny thing is, the Cowboys have been steadily sinking since about the time the Titanic movie came out. With Jerry in charge , simply rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
Exactly. The weird thing is, the Cowboys have been competitive every season since 2006 they've not had a QB injury. They were bad in 2010 and 2015 without Romo and in 2020 and 2024 without Dak. Every other season they either made the playoffs or had a chance to late in the year.Reminds me of the Garrett years.
We were never super bad, never super good. Just good enough for Jerry to be comfortable and not change.
Before you knew it, Garrett had been HC for 9.5 years with nothing to show for it.
See the same thing happening
Yep, we are always close but no cigar.Exactly. The weird thing is, the Cowboys have been competitive every season since 2006 they've not had a QB injury. They were bad in 2010 and 2015 without Romo and in 2020 and 2024 without Dak. Every other season they either made the playoffs or had a chance to late in the year.
This convinces Jerry they are "close". But he no longer is willing to make a move that will push this team over the top. He just wants to be comfortable, like you said.
Jerry is the common denominator for 29 years. The funny thing is, the Cowboys have been steadily sinking since about the time the Titanic movie came out.
Constantly changing supporting cast, consistently same results with Jerry.
