Dez Bryant selection?
I think he’s a great pick for Dallas. He has some issues and needs a good infrastructure around him to help him with his lifeskills. He doesn’t drink or do drugs. He loves the game of football. He understands and grasps the concepts of the game of football, which is important. He was one of the Top 5 players in the draft, without question. He returns the ball and is explosive with the ball in his hands. It’s another asset in the passing game that they can utilize. New Orleans is a tough team to match up with because of all the weapons they have at the skill positions, and Dallas is getting there.
Comparison?
A little more explosive Eric Moulds. Powerfull, breaks tackles, great hands. I really liked and respected Eric Moulds as a player and that’s who he reminds me of.
He has Crabtree’s advisors? Signability?
I don’t see a problem. Jerry Jones will have that conversation and if he wants to play football he knows it will be in Dallas for the 24th pick money. It didn’t work out well for Crabtree in the end and it didn’t help him, so maybe they learned from that.
Clausen sliding?
I know Browns and Buffalo were trying to get into the 1st. Buffalo was trying to get Tebow and really wanted to have their QB by the end of the first day. Sometimes QBs have circumstances out of their control. They slide because of that. I think he goes top of the 2nd. It’s more important to go to the right team that likes him and develops him than where he gets picked.
Tebow?
Buffalo was going to take him too. Everyone has an opinion of this guy, and some of those opinions are going to be wrong. He had to go to a team where the offensive head coach ran the organization. A guy who had a vision for the player. For example, if Jerry fell in love with him he would have to force him on Wade, and then Wade would have to force him on Garrett. That wouldn’t have worked.
Orton and Quinn?
Orton is still the starter but there is nothing wrong with competition. If Orton wants to become a great player he’ll have the opportunity next year in Denver. Orton has to embrace the opportunity. If he sulks its only going to negatively effect his career.
NFC East?
I think Philly got a great player in Brandon Graham. JPP has more Demarcus Ware upside. Graham is a tough guy to block for the Cowboys if they don’t get the tackle spot fixed, and they can stick two pass rushers on both sides. Washington will be a tougher game. They got a head coach and they’ll be able to block. The NFC East will come down to injuries and who stays hurt. Every player on the Cowboys .
McNabb?
The things you need in the NFL are a great coach, a quarterback, a left tackle and guys who rush the passer … and now they got all four things. He’ll be a great fit for Shanny’s system with rollouts and boots.
Do you expect more trades with this format?
Anytime there is down time there is going to be a lot of phones working. There will be a lot of action and interest in these picks at the top of the 2nd.
