MM deserves a lot of credit.
Fans want to whine about clock management and fire him if they disagree with him. Which he has done pretty good with this season. A few questionable ones, maybe. The 4th down play in the Eagles game the biggest mistake. But that was on Moore as well for the stupid hurry up crap.

Anyway, after Dak went down in game 1. He had KM change the offense some some to suit Cooper's style and skills. He kept the team going.
Tyron goes down for the year, he decides to put Tyson at LT. Gregory bolts, he has Jerry go get Fowler, resigns Armstrong. Retains Kearse.
There have been a lot of little things he has done.as a team but as players also, in themselves and as a team.

He has the teams believing not just

Long road ahead, but I feel pretty good with him on the sidelines.

... if and when he gets to the NFC Championship game he will be one game up of every head coach we've had since Switzer. If and when.
Quinn is definitely the best DC we've had since the 90s,,,

I'll give him credit for cleaning up the team. Last year we were an ultra-penalized team and there were some utterly bizarre decisions being made in game.

With him and Quinn, we're getting a ton out of our guys. Before, when one side of the team would falter, we'd lose, but here, we're still winning. The defense didn't look that great last game but we still almost put up 50.

Yep. That's the one thing I've noticed. So far, I haven't seen the soul crushing penalties we had last year.

This team plays with more passion than any team in the last 27 years. You have to give the coaching some credit for that. That's why I don't hate some of the risky and overaggressive calls he makes at times, even when they don't work. That can set a tone that pays dividends down the road.

The defense was expected to improve on last season but did anyone expect this?
The O-line was a major concern going into the season but has been a major asset, so far.
Young players contributing in a big way, on both sides of the ball.

McCarthy isn't 100% responsible for all that but he is the tone setter and he deserves credit.

He has coached well and kept this team focused and winning when Dak went down. He gets a ton of credit for that. The team is a reflection of it’s leaders— so if he gets the blame when things suck— he gets the credit when there is success.

That said— MM, KM, and Dak— will all be judged for what happens in Jan/Feb. The expectation is playoff success in a watered down NFC. Dallas is arguably the second best team— and has the ability to play with and beat anybody.

Let’s revisit this discussion in Feb. If this team makes it to the NFCCG or beyond— the season will have been a success. Short of that— we will likely have a repeat of the turmoil following the SF loss and possibly a coaching change to Quinn.
