I expect all 3 to be gone.....

Big changes are coming if the Cowboys can't pull things together in a hurry.

As we hit that 1/3 mark of the NFL season, the contenders are beginning to separate themselves and stand out amongst the crowd. Something else that has stood out from the crowd (like a sore thumb) are those on the Dallas Cowboys who probably won’t be back for another go next season.

These players (and potentially coaches) haven’t exactly lived up to their end of the bargain. So, Jerry Jones and company will have some tough decisions to make, especially if the team doesn’t improve over the long haul.

3. Ezekiel Elliott
2. Brandin Cooks
1. Mike McCarthy

Those are big changes??? Was this supposed to be a surprise to anyone???

Is Cooks and Elliot a big part of this team currently???

Is anyone really expecting or wanting to resign Cooks or Elliot? Some people don't think they should even be on this team currently.

When it comes to MM we will have to wait and see.

Not really I think cooks has been injured since training camp... I think whatever he did on one fall I remember where he limped off he may have tore his meniscus slightly tried to play through it didn't tell anybody it got worse he got surgery now and now he's got an infection but I think when he comes back he'll be more of himself I don't think he's been full speed since day one...

However, we get to see another week October and Turpin and whenever Brandin cooks gets back doesn't necessarily he's a progress stopper you can move him to #3 and reduce his snaps and maybe he'll be better for it...

And I'm going to need a bigger sample size of Turpin and tolbert against the lions and against San Francisco I don't know when cooks is supposed to be back but you're going to have to show me more than spot duty play here and there..
Tolbert and Turpin will be auditioning the next few games, I definitely agree with that. Personally, I view Tolbert as WR2 already because he's shown to be a decent possession WR on routes Cooks haven't been successful running. Also, Cowboys just need a bigger body at WR, and Cooks n Turp can battle for WR3.

well, we can only hope Tolbert takes that step to build on last week.. AND will our OC finally use Turp to take the top or center off defenses more than once a a game.. go be aggressive!!

One of the many bad habits this owner/president and GM has is this: When he “pays” someone on a big contract, (especially HCs) he almost never eats money on that contract and cuts them loose early. There are exceptions but not many.

In other words unlike other teams’ GMs he hates to release anyone he owes money to, despite the fact that most teams realize that sometimes it’s in the team’s best interest to eat some money to move on from someone.

Evidence of Jerry’s reluctance: Dave Campo (3 straight 5-11 seasons), Jason Garrett (three straight 8-8 seasons, and only making the playoffs 3 times in a decade), and now Big Mac, on the last year of his deal and coming off the worst playoff loss in Cowboys history.

You can add DLaw to that list and possibly Zack Martin. He may end up retiring. Appears his body is starting to break down.

This clearly tells you and the rest of the World winning is not the priority.

Don't be surprised if/when MM gets resigned.

Three 12-5 season coaches don't typically get fired. If we win the Division and or limp into the playoffs with all of these injuries and a more challenging schedule ai would not be surprised.

Zeke shouldn’t be here to begin with. Its pathetic.
^ This. Jerry Jones from last April:

The Cowboys addressed their offensive and defensive fronts in the first three rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft, but Dallas still has a hole at running back. That's an opening Jerry Jones would be fine filling with Zeke and returning him to his former status of "starting running back of the Dallas Cowboys."
"Yes," Jones said Friday night when asked if Elliott has RB1/starter capabilities at this stage of his career. "We talked about this last night too: Is Zeke someone of interest? Yeah, he is someone of interest. I saw him play his last games with New England. I thought he played well enough to be a starter." (link)
_______________

Stevenson is New England's starting running back. Elliott backed him up last season. Stevenson started the first 12 games before getting sidelined due to injury. Elliott started the final five games.

It could be argued Elliott was a better receiving option out of the backfield than Stevenson. Elliott took a back seat to Stevenson as a starter in the Patriots' run game, with nearly 1 1/2 less rushing yards per attempt.

Jones watched Elliott last year and saw him as a starting running back. It is not his prescription glasses' fault though.

Jethro needs to stop evaluating players period.

Owners pay people to do that.

It is a lesson he has not learned in three decades. Luckily, he has hired people to do most of the mental work but he still dips his mental genius into their stew and continually sours the entire pot.

His evaluations are just his personal opinions (what he wants to believe), confirmations from sycophants who tell him he’s a “football genius” and probably what he gleans watching the NFL network or ESPN shows.

By his own admission, he watches zero film, does no deep dives into research…just his own ego evaluations. He’s is literally no more informed than a fantasy football GM who’s trying to win the $200 payoff for winning the office league, lol.

Well, that won't happen so there's no need to worry about it.
.....Said the media "experts" prior to the 1975 season.....

There are so many unlikely teams through-out NFL history that went deep into the playoffs when most suspected a losing season.

Mike has won 3 games already which is nothing short of a miracle so far. 3 road games at that.
win against a bum in watson to start the season, win against a terrible QB in jones, Terrible qb in Pitt, these are more like you'd be fools not to win these games
