Mike Pettine reports directly to Schotty!

[dupree89]

We are full blown circus. Enjoy the show.

I'm actually not surprised. I think Pettine is here more for Schottenheimer (and Jerry/Stephen) than Parker. His loyalties will be to Schotty. He might be one of Parker's mentors but he also worked with Schotty in NYJ and share ties to Mike McCarthy. Bringing him here gives them a guy they can trust to be their eyes and ears on defense.

They can say that Parker wanted him here too and I'm sure he did since he knows he needs all the help he can get. But in the grand scheme of things, this also works out because it gives them insurance if Parker continues to flop. I wouldn't be surprised if Schotty was the one who convinced Pettine to come out of retirement.

Told you all several days ago, Pettine is here to eventually replace BOTH CP and BS.....at least to audition for both jobs for now. If Jerry likes, Jerry gets. But Pettine will still be a puppet coach, his only other option would have been retirement. How will this all turn out I wonder?

[Bullflop]

Jerry appears to be awaiting Green Bay to spank us to spread the blame a bit wider!
Hence, the timely arrival of M. Pettine to take his fair share of the horrendous blame.

[gimmesix]

He might, I don't know. I don't think he was that great of a DC lol.

But the reporting structure doesn't really matter.

Yeah, looking into Pettine's past as a defensive coordinator, the only time he has had great success at it was when Rex Ryan made him his defensive coordinator. So it was Ryan's defense and Pettine helped with the day to day of running it. On his own, his defenses have been about middle of the pack. That's a huge step up from what our defenses have been the past three years, but anyone expecting miracles is expecting too much.

[Blast From The Past]

Im shocked Jerry hasnt just put on a visor backwards and a polo and gone down to the sidelines at this point.

or his coaching whistle

[dreghorn2]

Anyone know if Pettine surfs?

[rags747]

Wish he said that he reports to Jerry and Jerry only!

[dmq]

But secretly reports directly to Jerry.

[Johannes44]

The dysfunction never stops.

He's upstairs with his headset calling plays so he can really make that money.
