Mike Tannenbaum rips Cowboys on Micah negotiations

Yeah it's silly to drag it out thinking you're gaining leverage by waiting. I get that there are probably other internal conversations you're having with guys that aren't under contract but they're trying to save pennies while waiting and those pennies turn into dollars.
I don't get this.
They already have proven they have little football acumen.
Their strength was their business ability.
Looking at how they conduct negotiations, they suck at that too.
We are doomed.

Blaming the Cowboys for not signing Mucha LAST year is dumb. No player (agent) would agree to doing it a year early. There is absolutely no reason to from a player's perspective. Now if you want to blame the Cowboys for dragging their feet THIS offseason, go right ahead.
Zeke got his deal a year early.

Could be waiting because we are going to trade him on draft day.
That is the only way to make this look less inept. But if the plan is to sit back and wait for someone to make an offer, they are bigger morons than we suspect. They should be scouring the NFL looking for the right team with cap space and the need for a pass rusher to pitch a trade..... . Chicago ? They have cap space and draft picks to spare. Maybe NE?

I suspect this will drag on into the summer. Micah will get a deal before the season after sitting out camp. Jerry and his boy do not recognize urgency in their football bubble.

They should just trade him at this point.

You can't expect to even accidentally contend with the highest paid player ever (Dak), the 2nd highest paid WR ever (Lamb), and the highest paid non QB ever (Parsons).

Then you add Diggs's stupid contract in there and we're basically 4 players and a bunch of jags.
:hammer:And what's really funny......is 3 of the 4 aren't even good.

It is beyond belief ,the way they handle their own free agents .They wait to long and it costs more then they don't have the funds to grab a couple or three good players from other teams.
People wonder why we are pissed at this front office.
They are a model on how not to do things.
Unbelievable the sheep keep packing out the Star.
Until the local fans quit going to the game's the Jones have absolutely no incentive to change their ways.

The players aren't the problem .........you draft players praying/hopping they will reach elite/ALL-PRO status. When they do. you pay the piper. It's always been that way. It's on the team, coaches, GM and owner to translate that elite status into Super Bowls or consistent postseason return. Let's put it another way..........what happens when the drafted replacement players from picks rec'd from trading all our ALL-PROs become ALL-PROs in 3-4 years? Start the cycle over again coz we don't wanna pay them?
BTW....as a few have mentioned.....we are seeing the same issue/problems before your Daks, Lamb and Parsons were here.

No they could have last year. But its rare for a top level talent to being to negotiate after year 3
Not to mention......it takes two to tango. I'm not sure Parsons would have signed last year, at least not for $35M. He said he would wait until this year but he made it seem like he was doing it to allow FO to take care of Dak and Lamb. But I'm pretty sure his agent knew his market value would be closer to $40M if he waited.

Guys get extended early all the time. Where do yall get this crap from? It's always the players/agents who are the delay. Except Garrett or Hendrickson's agent or whoever in the hell signs first every single time.

but do you notice how much media time the cowboys get? that's what Jerry wants.....perhaps another contract that will go to the last hour before the first game of the season. Jerry just doesn't give a craap......the cap is saving him, so he doesn't care where he spends the money. in the end its the same amount he will spend and no more. as long as we are Psuedo competitive, then he is happy.
I have no doubt in my mind.

Jerry had deals with Lamb and Dak already done last season.

The way they acted on social media when Jerry would make his "no urgency" or comments about Dak to which Dak responded "I stopped listening to what Jerry says to the media comment" and Lamb laughing on twitter at the no urgency comment leads me to believe that deals were already in place but Jerry didnt make them official to increase screen time and clicks via the media.

Dak and Lamb knew their deals were done, but just played a part. Its all an act at this circus.
