If they hadnt come through as they have. Or just stayed mediocre in the sense of how they started off the season. Where would we be now? I defintely didnt see them doing this to start off the season, Thoughts on them going forwards?

Agreed, but Jenkins needs to be added to this list.

We now have the best WR, the best LOLB, the best ROLB, the best QB, the best TE, the best DT, and now emerging is potentially the best CB.

A dynasty has been born.

And the way Free is coming on, perhaps one of the best young Tackles in the league - got to open holes for the RBs and keep Romo's backside clean so he can deliver the ball.

Oher is the best young tackle, Free has alot of potential though.

Spencer is my favorite player this year. The guy has really played lights out under the radar.

Not sure about having tons of potential all stars but Austin is certified all pro and spencer looking as such. Brings up back to the scouting department Tuna installed here. Wow man Romo , Austin, Ratliff? Ive had a stance for a while that in the salary cap era FO and coaching are more important than raw talent of the team. Proof? maybe but wow hats off to them .

I'm not sure that the Tuna built this scouting dept. He took his main guy with him to be GM of the Dolphins. Can't remember his name right now.

I remember back in the early 90's we were in nearly the same position as we are now. We had gone eight years without a playoff win and we were desperate for someone to rise to the occasion and make big plays in big games.

Then along came Micheal Irvin and Emmitt Smith. Even in 1990 you could sense we had a couple of winners here but it wasn't until we beat the Bears in Chicago in 91 that we turned the corner. I didn't include Troy Aikman in that group because we were able to get that elusive playoff win with Steve Beurelein at QB.

I sense that Miles Austin and Felix Jones are going to be those same type of young playmakers that just might get us over the hump.

Look on the bright side, we got Roy Williams instead. Plus we got him a year early in 2008 to help with the 2008 playoff run while Oher was off studying which means he is just soft. We don't need that kind of attitude on this team, no sir.

Jeff Ireland.

For every Parcells "wow, what a player we got!" there are four, "what the **** was he thinking?" draft picks.

Ireland went with the tuna to Miami. Tom Ciskowski runs the scouting dept. now.

I think Parcells installed the changes that needed to be made to the scouting dept., and even as some of the members left with him to Miami, the leftovers have taken it to another level here. Just my two cents.

What changes did he make? I honestly can't remember at this point.

Well, if nothing else theo, Larry Lacewell was no longer the primary voice when he was around...right? I can't really remember all the specifics either. I just remember a decade of terrible drafts and then, poof, suddenly we're competent again. :)

The turnover began two weeks ago when scouting director Larry Lacewell retired, although that move had been in the works for two years.
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/cowboys/2005-01-17-parcells-overhaul_x.htm

Lacewell, a longtime friend of Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones, came to the Cowboys in 1992 and has overseen the last 11 drafts here at Valley Ranch. The Cowboys have yet to announce a replacement, although this move was expected in the organization. Lacewell, who turns 68 in February, sold his house in Dallas last spring and recently bought some property in Hot Springs, Ark.

Doesn't appear he was fired.

Well I'm going to sing the praises of Jenkins because I all but called him a sissy last year for refusing to tackle a runner, but since then, this guy has basically intimidated his side of the field.

He's tough, fearless, fast, knows how to keep his hands off the reciever yet turn his head to make plays, and hits hard.

3 Stars have been born this year, and I thought 1 of them would've been Bennett.
