Miles Austin production will help RW

I really don't care who makes the plays, who is the number one receiver as long as we win, this is a team game. RW is a good receiver and over time I can see him getting better as a cowboy and producing more especially with Miles turning into a consistent threat. So much for the one week wonder.

RW needs to be our move the chains, possession receiver and the red zone guy. I like the slants we saw today, Romo missed him on one but this should and will be the number one play to Roy. If RW becomes the #2 guy which it looks like he is, we are in real good shape. We can't redo the trade, we can only move forward and play team football. Go Miles, Go RW, Go Boys!

This offense should go through romo-felix-barber-witten and austin.

Crayton and williams should be happy with the balls they get. Especially roy williams, he talks and talks and puts a pretty lousy effort on the field.

If he is to hurt to play he should be inactive and ogletree should be active.

All I know is the first microphone put in his face this week, roy had better not be making backhanded comments about some other guys, cause he looks pretty slow and lazy at times, especially today.

I knew he was bad before he got here. I live in Michigan and saw his act w/ the lions....but I never thought he'd just IMPLODE>THE guy never could run routes, but now he can't catch, and looks forty years old trying to run. I don't know what the solution is, but he and Romo need to develop chemistry real soon. In Roy's defense, Romo has worked with Austin, Crayton, Hurd and Witten for years and only worked with Roy for what amounts to about half a season. It's time they started connecting, though.

I don't know what the solution is, but he and Romo need to develop chemistry real soon. Quit making excuses for the guy - he just doesn't get separation from CBs anymore which makes it tough to feed the ball into him. When you combine that with his dropsies and alligator arms, you've got a recipe for a disaster.

He's never been the seperation type. With the Lions even in his Pro Bowl year he was a go getter. He didn't get much seperation. That's not his game. And having injured ribs usually gives you alligator arms.

Excuses? Maybe. But they're legit. Roy is going to be alright. His ribs will heal up and he'll get on track with the Cowboys.

I'm sorry but the guy got his $45M contract and has contributed squat in what is the equivalent of a full season. I have seen enough of him already - he is useless in his present state.

No RW will help himself by running better routes, getting open, catching balls he should, making plays, and keeping his yapper shut.

Austin's production will not help RW. In fact it will highlight RW lack of that kinda of stuff that makes Austin exciting to watch on the field.

The only thing that will help RW is to stop dropping balls and hope a lesser team like the Seahawks or the Raiders will bite. We need to get something back from that RW trade with Detroit.

I don't want Romo to waste his spirals to RW no more.
If Romo and Garrett are smart, and they are, they know to concentrate the throws to Austin and Witten and let the rest catch the leftovers.

To put RW in there is to prevent an Ogle from showing us what he's got. But also, to showcase RW for a possible trade is gud.

Roy Williams was targeted several times today, which is encouraging by itself, IMO.

Roy had two drops on passes he'd normally catch, a picky offensive pass interference negated another, he caught his foot in the turf to disrupt an open crossing route and a slant was one hopped to him.

That's five additional receptions that could have been today.

Some will get caught up in the ugly final stat line, what we gave up to get him, what he's paid and everything else.

Not I.

Everything indicated Roy worked his tail off last off-season to help get on the same page with Tony Romo and I know he can make plays.

Is he perfect?

No.

Did I want to trade for him?

No.

But he's here.

And we will need him if the offense is going to reach its potential.

Defenses have been concerned with stopping Jason Witten, now Miles Austin will likely headline the list. If teams key on one or both, Romo needs to trust Williams to make plays.

He was looking for him today, even if it didn't turn out pretty.

I remember last year when the same was sometimes said about Austin.

Even though he won't admit it, I would have to think Roy's ribs are probably still pretty tender and he was probably playing to protect them just a bit. It's only natural to do so. Also, I would think the protective vest or whatever he was wearing also is a bit of a hinderance.

Intuitive and Intelligent post my friend. While I am not pleased with RW!! it is way too soon to pull the plug on him. We will need Roy before this season is over and it's up to Roy to do what he needs to do to answer that bell when it comes. I have faith in him still, but he needs to change his attitude now because there is clearly NOT a TR problem in Dallas.

Troy nailed something today that really summarizes my concern with Roy's performance here. In two games we've seen Romo and Austin show the sort of connection that Romo and T.O. once had -- perhaps even better. Now, Roy hasn't been here as long as Austin, and maybe that's one reason the passes to him don't look as pretty. It's taking a while for Bennett to get looks, too.

It's just strange when Romo throws to Roy (the few times he does). Things are always off. If that ever changes, I think Roy has the ability to be a pretty good player (not $45 million good, but pretty good). But will it ever get to that point?
