Hours after Super Bowl XLIII MVP Santonio Holmes was handed to the Jets for a fifth-round draft pick, the team that gave up a first-round pick, a third-round pick, and a fifth-round pick for receiver Roy Williams has another wideout who isn't happy with his contract.

In any other year, Cowboys receiver Miles Austin would be making nearly $10 million under the franchise tag -- or averaging $9 million on a long-term deal. Thanks to the uncapped year, Austin will make $3.168 million for 2010.

As a result, he's staying away from the team's offseason program. The guy who throws the passes to Austin isn't concerned.

"Miles will be back, don't worry, he'll be back and around," quarterback Tony Romo told ESPN Radio in Dallas. "He's just getting things done, the business side of things that happens once and while. But I talked to Miles the other day, he'll be on a bike. He's a good kid, he's going to work hard and he'll be ready to go when the time comes. He does a lot of good things, and he knows what it takes to play at a high level, year in and year out."

Still, with only three days to go before the window slams shut on possibly leaving, Austin can exert leverage only by staying away from the offseason program until June 15, at which time the Cowboys can reduce his tender offer by well over $1 million.

So while he'll definitely be back on June 15, we'd be surprised if he shows up before then.

We did not give up a 1st, 3rd and 5th for Roy. It was a 6th and we got back a 7th.

Hey Media. Non Issue...If you want to stir the pot go write about Woods or the Steelers...

I tell you one thing, if he comes in out of shape, not football ready, losing us a game or two because of missed timing, or not knowing right route, or gets injured because he wasnt football ready.

I want Miles Austin to be held accountable. have to answer to all cowboys fans and media writers why he held out, on being selfish and not willing to help the team by being in camp.

I want him to have to answer and be held accountable to what he did and why. That he put himself first and not the team, that he even admitted his first 3-4 years here he didnt work hard like he said he should have. Yet, now he wants to be paid, but he didnt work those first 3 years with the team.

I want him to have to answer to that for trying to be a diva etc.

Tony Romo played through his deal, ratliff did too and so did ware.

They werent selfish like Miles Austin is being right now!

I don’t like it. Miles has said many times the business side will take of itself...ok, so why not still follow that logic? Wasting time hitting the clubs and picking up woman, need to get your butt in camp with Romo. One great season doesn’t make a career. I hope fame hasnt gone to his head.

It would also cost Miles which is why he should be at the facilities getting ready. Jerry has shown he will pay out the big money to resign guys but right now we wants to see a bit more as he did with Romo before he hands over the big contract. I see this as a case of bad advice from Miles agent because more times than not holding a player out of team activities ends up costing players not helping them.

This is getting old. Miles, you had one great season, after multiple medicore seasons when this team stuck with you. Get you butt to work outs, you'll get paid, do your job.

I would like for Miles to be there right now but I don't think it's a problem.

That is exactly what I am talking about, Barber held out for more money, he started getting injured, ken hamlin held out, and played the last 2 years horribly. So did safety roy williams, he got his big money and quit playing football hard.

Miles is being a jerk and you can tell him i said so.

Did Tony Romo hold out his last year before he got a new contract No!
Did ware hold out for more money his last year on contract NO!
Did Ratliff, NO! They put the team first.

Miles is being a diva and a jerk!

When i was working at my job, and working hard, I had to go through times when i wasnt getting paid like i should have, but i stayed and worked. Later, I got my money, but I didnt hold out or quit the team or the business.

The team always comes first with me, if you as a player do this, then that shows you and the fans, your not really a team player but only out for the money and yourself.

Anyone that does that is a jerk and a diva.

It's business people. This is how the business side of the NFL works - for dozens of players every offseason. And guess what....it almost always works out just fine.

Go outside, have a good time, tune back into the NFL for the draft and then again sometime in July. Miles will be ballin out of control around that time.

I don't think we are at that stage just yet. My hope is Miles gets to the facilities and attends the OTA that are scheduled. I think it is a benifet to him and his desire to get that long term deal he is seeking. I do think this is just some bad advice from his agent

Very bad. Does Miles really think Jerry is going to back down and pay him more because he is skipping voluntary workouts?

Quite frankly I think this may have the opposite effect. I'm more inclined to pay employees who show up.

Everyone take a chill pill... Austin will be back when the time is right. I'm not worried one bit.

I hope he does get in soon. My concern is more with Miles Agent than it is Miles.

I agree. I really don't get who this kid thinks he is. He hasn't even played a full season and he thinks he's above Romo and Ware? I never thought it would happen but I'm really starting to question Austin. If we're going to have a diva, I'd rather have the superior Brandon Marshall.

Maybe it's funny to you but the as it stands right now he is still nothing more than an undrafted kid who hasn't even played one full season. He's not Brandon Marshall or Larry Fitz. He's a player that nobody will remember if he doesn't show up again at the same level this season. He has no business staying away.

How quickly people can turn on someone?

Yes it is.

I like Miles that is why I want him at VR and attending OTA. If I did not care about him I would not want any where near the team.
