I may be completely bias on this one because I'm a Miles Austin fan, but I think he's looked great returning kicks since he's taken over for Thompson. Yesterday the Lions were kicking away from Austin, I've never seen them do that against Thompson. Now, I won't put his in the same group as Hester because he's not even close and he most likely won't ever be, but the kid is good.

I would like to see him get involved in the passing game more. I thought after the Green Bay game I would see him used at WR more to stretch the field. He didn't this week, but I think he'll play a lot after we clinch a first round bye with a win this week.

Does anybody besides me think he can be a number 2 WR in Dallas for years to come? I know a lot of people want a top quality prospect at WR but honestly I would take Hurd and Austin after Owens and Glenn are gone. They're pretty good with high untapped potential. They are also hard workers and I think play with a chip on their shoulders because they went undrafted. Hopefully we found two more diamonds in the rough like Romo.

I don't think he will ever be a #2 but I love him on the kick returns.

If he could just beat the kicker he would have 3 TD's in the last 2 games!!!

I wish he would have been returning kicks from the start. He showed more in that playoff game last season than TT ever did. I think he'll be a very good player for us. I like his potential at WR too.

He's had soem great returns since he took over for TT, but how can he allow the kicker to bring him down?

I think he has the chance to develope into an effective WR over time. However, I do not believe he will ever be a number 1 WR in our offense. I think this is what's driving the desire to draft a WR. TG is not long for the NFL IMO. TO can't play forever either. You have to replace the #1 WR with another guy who can be that for you. Stanback has that kind of athletic ability but he's not a finished product by any means. To me, he's the only guy on our roster who has the potential to be a #1 WR.

I'm curious to see what kind of receiver he can become, especially with chances like the present and Crayton being questionable.

As for returns, he may be the missine piece, I love how he has returned kicks...In particular, how he attacks and is aggressively running rather than our slow buildup returns waiting for the 'wall'...That being said, no returner should routinely get taken out by the kicker...Come on Miles :laugh2:

lol, tell me about it. He's gotten tackled three times in two games by kickers. That's just sad.

I love the job that Miles is doing on kick returns and glad to see him getting some playing time as a WR

I like Glenn to be our #2. But yesterday, I wanted them to put in Austin in there. it would be interesting if the Cowboys ever decide to use 5 wide receivers. TO, Gleen, Crayton, Austin and Hurd. I think they should try it a few times, maybe just to get Gleen back into the game.

There is no comparing Miles and TT. Miles has been a HUGE upgrade. I'd love to see him develop in to at least a #2 or #3 wr.

What bothered me yesterday is that he had plenty of room to cut inside and make the kicker miss

:hammer:

TT is done, Miles Austin has taken job from TT. Now Austin just need to avoid the kicker so that he could take it to the house.

I agree. TT will be someone elses problem next year.

Austin is 5th in the league in Kick Returns among those with at least 18 returns. 3 of the 4 in front of him have at least 1 TD to boost their return. If Austin had as many returns as them, I'm sure he'd have a TD or two as well.

miles austin is my friends list on facebook (student version of *******)....

beat that.
