Just an observation that struck me.

First, I really like Miles Austin. I think he has the charisma to be a leader but he isn't that guy, still he's an above average receiver that could be a stone cold killer if he played with a star on the other side.

But Miles yesterday displayed yet again the lack of urgency and the mindset of the team. After his fumble they had shots of him on the sideline and he was pissed. Nobody was sitting next to him and you could tell he was beating himself up.

Later, he made another nice catch and run and you could tell he was running with fury. After he was tackled there was no celebration, he flipped the ball aside like 'give it to me again.' He was in that angry zone.

The problem is it took a turnover to get himself into that mode. Dez is gifted and plays angry but he has no discipline or awareness.

Michael Irvin was a leader, gifted, aware, played with a fury and was disciplined...every single down, every single game.

Agreed. Angry Miles was great yesterday. He needs to play like that more often.

Angry Miles= at least a top 5 WR in the league.

A cool collected Austin= top 10

ive never been quite sold on Austin, I mean yeah at times he shows great play making ability and yards after the catch but most of the time hes dealing with hamstring issues. IMO he's one of those players were you damned if you have him and damned if you do not.

You just summed up the difference between a talented gifted WR and a HOF WR

I don't know about that whole angry thing. Victor Cruz never looks angry, and he's tearing it up.

Michael would get angry when the other guys weren't playing up to their potential (which wasn't all that often). The rest of the time, I would describe him as fired up and hungry.

miles austin plays hard, stays positive, says the right things and keeps his name out of the police blotter.

besides that, he makes a whole bunch more good plays than bad ones.

i have no idea why anyone would complain about him.
