Miles Sanders drops a hint on a new-look offense for Dallas

Agreed, 100%. I realize this won't be a popular idea here, but Jeanty is pretty darn good!

Presenty, the Cowboys can't stop the Eagles running game. This may be the way to equal the field.
What gets me one of the biggest issues that has been missing for 30 years except in 2016, is an Elite RB. Look at what Barkley did for Eagles. It was Smith in Dallas. When he held out, we were 0-2, resigned, and we won the Superbowl. I just can't understand how the organization can't see this huge problem in front of their face for most of 30 years. If Jeanty is that guy, go get him.

Sounds like the Cowboys are very serious about getting back to a dominant running offense again. Pretty good article. It gets into the new OL coaches. A physical run game is never a bad thing.

The new running back in town tips the hand of the Cowboys offense and what the plan will be this year.

“The plan for the offense is to go through the run….You don’t get too many places where the offensive coordinator is an offensive line coach, and I know he’s playing a big part in the plan, I’m excited.”

They gotta get away from Big Mikes offense.

Jerry isn't paying Dak 60M a year to hand the ball off or CD 30M to block............ even if we did have a decent rb.

Typically I would agree, but with an injury prone Dak and two tackles that struggle with pass protection I'm just not sure they have much of a choice. Big question in my mind is can the defense consistently hold teams to 20 points to allow the offense to be run focused. If not it's 2024 all over again.

I'll believe this won't be the "Dak checking into a pass again" offense when I see it.

The 60 million dollar man is going to get what he wants, and that is a bunch of empty set shotgun.

Schotty got Mark Sanchez to the AFC title game in back to back years. Surely he can hopefully help Dak as well….

Well yes however that statement of Mark Sanchez got to the AFC title game in back to back years comes with a pretty big "but" after it.

Lol…I also failed to mention that it was Ryan’s D that was the real star.
Ryan's D, Nick Folk, equipment manager, asst ST coach, and then Sanchez really far down the list lol. I think they could have made the AFCC with Clint Stoerner under center.

Jerral is paying for Dak's arm so you can bet he'll let Schotty know he expects his money's worth.
It's not true at all I know you guys try to be funny,

. but there are other teams that paid I don't know saquon Barkley $20 million a year now but they also pay their quarterback close to 55,000,000...Henry/Lmar, I believe they'll find a way to utilize both that's how it works the best thing for your quarterback is to have a strong run game; remember they said it was Romo friendly, that was just nonsense, that's offense friendly, that is quarterback friendly.

it works about balance and continuity you know they call it complementary football.... You must have it, you can't have your opponent's knowing exactly how they can stop you and force things to their advantage.

that's been the problem around here for a while is it was too easy to shut down the run game flood the zone with a bunch of defenders and then be able to handle our offensive line with only four guys maybe 5 didn't have to blitz all the time...

because there has not been for the last two seasons a truly dominant or effective run game to keep the defense honest any time that's happened even with the backups last year things look a lot better when they were able to use Turpin in a better manner,

so I blame some of this on the coaching staff this has nothing to do with Jerry and where he wants his snaps and the money he's paying his players it's in everyone's best interest to get a better offensive line and run game and scheme that's disguised so that way when you call upon the pass game it's more effective..

And what I'm hoping to see not only with a better run game is whenever you see the alignments more of it can be eye candy motion movement or it looks like it runs gonna be a pass and I think some of that's gonna have to be going back under center with the quarterback more.. Please don't say Prescott can't run from under center I bet I can find a bunch of plays that he can this is just his offensive coaches deciding to play in shotgun more..

Has it ever occurred to you that sometimes less is more?

Not really. If Ashton Jeanty is gone very early in the 1st round, there are several RBs who could do just as good. Omarion Hampton is bigger and could easily be a 3 down RB. There is also Treveyon Henderson. Bhayshul Tuten is the same size and tough running style as Jeanty. Difference is Tuten is faster and a bigger homerun threat. Also, don't forget about Jaydon Blue, DJ Giddens or Brashard Smith.
Ill take Henderson in the 2nd or 3rd any day before Jeanty at 12
