imo yes.the reason is very simple- we will use Milton in certain QB run situations like QB sneaks and besides if DAK got hurt Grier will be available even if he is on the PS

He had his best preseason game, but I'm still not there yet. Love to see him in one more game but that's not possible. I think we roll with him unless Dak is out for an extended time. Then you bring in a more seasoned vet.

I dont think you will have real options in season. If he is not your #2, you need to add someone now

Schott obviously told him your legs make you dangerous if the play breaks down don’t hesitate to run . He also threw the ball with a much better touch .

Why not wildcat him some this year get creative get opponents on their heals . I’m fine with him as back up as opposed to older weaker arm statue Rush .

There is enough potential there to make QB2 for Milton. It was just just one game but he looked much better. I saw poise, touch, pocket awareness and running ability. If he can build on this game he could be serviceable.

Agree.......The biggest improvement to me was his confidence. This is good coz the key for him IMO is learning to play the game with his head, not his arm. That will come.......

I think the opposite.

If we are competing and have a chance, id want a vet for a game or two.

If Dak is lost bring on Milton because we have no chance anyway.

Well... let's do the Pros and Cons:

Pros:
he's cheap

Cons:
he sucks
He'd be the worst #2 QB in the League
He'd be worse than many other team's #3
He wouldn't win a single game, against ANY team, if he were forced to play. It would be better to just put another RB in the game than him

So, seems pretty simple. Jerry will keep him at #2!

He needs reps. If Dak goes down you give him reps. He likely looks better with Smith Bebee Booker blocking opening holes for rb and pitching rock to CD Pickens ferg
Yup.

He can’t throw a football 5 feet.

I think they regret, a little bit, not giving Lance a chance. That said, Joe is your QB2 come Hell or high water. No way they sign a vet imo.

He's a 2nd year qb
He showed a glimpse of his ability with NE last year
he has a massive arm
He has great mobility
He has shown improvement through the preseason.
He's demonstrated he has the right attitude and is willing to work

Your assessment is very knee jerk and unbalanced - he has a lot of growing to do but its exciting to have a developing young talent vs a weak arm bus driver in Cooper rush

we have 0.000000000001% chance with Dak as the starting QB, not just because of him, but this team sucks and has so many holes and we know we need more. if he gets injured, then milton or anybody else doesn't matter, its a lost season. might as well Milton is the back up, get some reps, lose a few games and get a better draft pick.

I just hope Milton doesn't get too enamored about his play like when he went against Buffalo reserves in the last game of the season, last year with NE.

It should prove interesting to see how the staff reacts to what has happened to this point in time. This team has displayed for all to see that it can be both good and bad, depending upon the way this team responds to the talent available and how they are implemented in the coming games. Joe Milton has displayed both good and less than good tendencies, while Grier has shown a mix of both in his tests, as well.

The staff will be treated to seeing what both of them are capable of in their practices so far in camp and in the preseason games. They'll have the advantage of seeing the best and the worst of both of them throughout the present and their past experiences. Let's hope those experiences lead to an educational experience that affords a wise decision to come in the days ahead.

I think Joe Milton has the talent to keep improving in such a way to afford this team as someone with the possibilities to be an exceptional starting QB for this team, as long as his development continues to blossom as it should up to this point in time. He has much to learn but his abilities are such that his passing and running talents appear to have the elements of improving significantly.

I'm expecting that the staff will decide to go with what they believe Milton is capable of providing, as our starting QB of the future. Whether that comes about or not remains to be seen in the days and hours yet to come. In any event, the upcoming decision on that should be intriguing to see. Here's hoping their decision will be followed with good things to come in the future. May good fortune follow this team and its players. They deserve for good times to finally lie ahead.

Don’t see how you have a choice. He’s not getting cut and we don’t need 3 QB’s on the roster.

If the goal was to have a guy capable of winning a few games until Dak comes back from injury that guy was Rush. If the goal was to trade for a very raw but strong arm guy that guy is Milton. They got what they wanted and now we pray he never sees the field again until next offseason.
